All the information you need on how, when and where to watch the Premier League match between Liverpool and Tottenham on Wednesday 16 December.

Liverpool vs Tottenham: How and where to watch: times, tv, online

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns in a top-of-table clash at Anfield on Wednesday in what will be the mostly hotly anticipated clash of the Premier League season to date.

Both sides have suffered just one defeat this season and come into the game level on 25 points after seeing out respective 1-1 draws at the weekend -- Spurs against Crystal Palace and Liverpool against Fulham.

Liverpool have lost just one of their last 15 meetings with Spurs, winning ten and drawing four, with Spurs having managed just one victory from their last 26 games at Anfield. As such, Mourinho’s men will have their work cut out to beat the Reds on their impenetrable home turf, where they have not lost a Premier League game since a defeat to Crystal Palace in April 2017.

Spurs will be without Erik Lamela and Japhet Tanganga for the trip to Merseyside, while Gareth Bale is a major doubt. Liverpool’s injury list, meanwhile, continues to grow, with Thiago Alcantara, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota, Kostas Tsimikas, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri all set to miss the game. Naby Keita and Joel Matip are doubtful.

Klopp’s praise for Mourinho’s Spurs turnaround

Ahead of the game, Reds coach Jurgen Klopp praised Jose Mourinho for proving his critics wrong and turning Tottenham into a "results machine" and viable title contenders this season.

"Jose showed obviously he can come back, if you can call it that," Klopp said at Tuesday's pre-match news conference. "It's very impressive what he has done at Spurs.

"The way they play this year is really good. He turned them into a results machine. Performances, if not at best, they still win, defend collectively. It's been impressive."

Mourinho says Liverpool have only one “big injury”

For his part, Spurs coach Jose Mourinho made it clear he does not believe that Liverpool are in an injury crisis despite the Anfield outfit's large number of casualties – claiming that the club has just one “big injury” with Van Dijk.

“Alisson is not injured, Alexander-Arnold is not injured, Matip I believe is going to play, Fabinho is not injured, Robertson is not injured, Henderson is not injured, Wijnaldum is not injured, Salah is not injured, Firmino is not injured, Mane is not injured,” said the Spur boss at a press conference on Tuesday.

“Van Dijk is injured, and Van Dijk is a very good player of course. But give me Liverpool’s list of injuries, and compare that list of injuries with what is the best Liverpool team.”
