The Best FIFA Football Awards 2020: all the nominees
Take a look at the full list of finalists ahead of Thursday's fifth edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards gala, which this year is to be a virtual event.
A total of nine prizes are to be handed out when the fifth edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony takes place on Thursday.
The Best Awards 2020: virtual gala broadcast from FIFA HQ
Best Men’s Player and Best Women’s Player are the headline awards in the gala, which due to the coronavirus pandemic is to be a virtual event broadcast from FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
Scheduled to get underway at 19:00 CET, it is to be hosted by the sports journalist and broadcaster Reshmin Chowdhury and the former AC Milan and Netherlands star Ruud Gullit.
Lewandowski the frontrunner for Best Men's Player
Bayern Munich and Poland's Robert Lewandowski is the overwhelming favourite to claim Best Men’s Player ahead of fellow finalists Cristiano Ronaldo and holder Lionel Messi, while the battle for Best Women’s Player between Lucy Bronze, Pernille Harder and Wendie Renard promises to be very close.

The seven other prizes to be presented on Thursday are: Best Men’s Coach, Best Women’s Coach, Best Men’s Goalkeeper, Best Women’s Goalkeeper, the FIFA Puskás Award, the FIFA Fan Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award.
The 2020 FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and Women’s World 11 will also be announced.
