The Best FIFA Football Awards 2020: preview
Bayern Munich and Poland’s Robert Lewandowski is the overwhelming favourite to be named The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2020 when the fifth edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards takes place on Thursday evening.
Lewandowski, 32, is up against Juventus and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona and Argentina’s Lionel Messi in the running for the accolade, which went to Messi in 2019.
Meanwhile, Lucy Bronze (Manchester City/Lyon and England), Pernille Harder (Chelsea/Wolfsburg and Denmark) and Wendie Renard (Lyon and France) are the three nominees for The Best FIFA Women’s Player.
The other seven prizes to be handed out at The Best FIFA Football Awards, which will be a virtual event broadcast from FIFA headquarters in Zurich, are: Best Men’s Coach, Best Women’s Coach, Best Men’s Goalkeeper, Best Women’s Goalkeeper, the FIFA Puskás Award, the FIFA Fan Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award.
