Juventus choose Weston McKennie's goal as the best of 2020
The United States international scored a stunner for Juventus in their win against Barcelona in the last match of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Weston McKennie has made an immediate impact in Juventus since his arrival and has two goals and two assists in 15 appearances in all competitions so far this season. One of his goals came in Juventus' 3-0 victory against Barcelona in the last game of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
The United States international volleyed the ball inside the box to find the back of the net, after an amazing cross from Juan Cuadrado to give Juventus a two-goal advantage. The ‘Old Lady’ published a video on YouTube with the 20 best goals of 2020 and McKennie beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala among others.
It is understood that Juventus has already made a decision about permanently signing McKennie when his year-long loan ends in the summer of 2021. The Italian giants made a deal with Schalke 04 that if the 22-year-old met certain expectations they will be obligated to purchase him and he has met all of them and more in his first six months.
According to Transfermarkt, Weston McKennie has a current market value of $27.50 million, but Juventus will only pay the Bundesliga side €18.5 million ($22.6 million). The United States international has been used by new manager Andrea Pirlo as a central midfielder in his 3-4-1-2 formation.
