Raúl Jiménez returns to training following head surgery

Wolves announced on Wednesday that after five weeks since undergoing head surgery on a fractured skull, Raúl Jiménez has returned to training, but ‘still has a way to go, however things are going well.’

On November 29, 2020, the Mexican striker clashed heads with Arsenal’s David Luiz and had to be rushed to hospital to undergo surgery on a fractured skull. At the time of the incident, Wolves head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, said he was considerably concerned about Jiménez, but is now relieved with the progress being made.

The 29-year-old was discharged from the hospital on December 9, 2020 to continue his recovery at his house in London. On the 27th of the same month, Raúl Jiménez was in the stands for Wolves' game against Tottenham Hotspur, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Since the incident, Wolves have won only one of their last seven games. Without their main striker in the Premier League they have drawn twice and lost four games. Their next league match is against Everton on January 12.
