PSG target Dele Alli as Pochettino's first signing

Dele Alli is PSG's transfer window priority but injuries to Bale and Lo Celso complicate his departure. Daniel Levy prefers for Alli to stay in London.

Dele Alli is Paris Saint-Germain's main target for this January transfer window. The English midfielder appeared on Sporting Director Leonardo's radar as the ideal signing for the second half of the season. At Tottenham Hotspur, Jose Mourinho has given him opportunities without much end product, however, a potential move to the French capital will be quite complicated.

According to the Telegraph, PSG will return with a new offer that aims to convince the Londoners, who have rejected the first three bids for the midfielder. However, if Alli is to move, it won't be completed overnight. Injuries in the Spurs squad and the fact that not everyone has lost faith in Alli will keep the Ligue 1 side waiting.

With both Giovani Lo Celso and Gareth Bale out injured, Tottenham can't afford to let Alli leave to join his former manager Mauricio Pochettino in France. Besides, club chairman Daniel Levy is an admirer of the England international and still believes that he is capable of returning to his very best. Levy is key in this transfer as the rest of the parties involved appear to be in favour of it going ahead.

Pochettino and Alli

Pochettino is the coach who, so far, has had the biggest impact on Dele Alli's career. After coming through at MK Dons under the guidance of Karl Robinson, the Argentine took him under his wing, developing him into one of the most promising youngsters in England.

Now, at a difficult time for Alli, Pochettino's arrival in Paris may end up convincing him to leave the Premier League. Both Alli and Levy know that the strong relationship with the Argentine coach is an important factor in the decision.

This season, after the summer arrivals at Spurs, Alli is no longer a key man. He has played 407 minutes in 11 games, scoring two goals and provided one assist. In Paris, they continue to wait. Everything depends on Bale's injury and Daniel Levy.
