The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which is responsible for managing the projects related to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, continues to make every effort to make football fans, as well as the entire global sports community, aware of the progress being carried out regarding Qatar 2022 – striving to make the event an extraordinary experience for all the guests.

Believing in the considerable role of the media in this regard, the Supreme Committee took the initiative to list the developments related to the World Cup stadiums, infrastructure projects, tourist attractions, as well as the successes of programs and initiatives, on social media.

The Supreme Committee has paid much attention to digital platforms, and has accounts in Arabic, Chinese, Spanish and English on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. The Committee was also one of the first Qatari organizations to make use of the TikTok, Weibo, Doyan, Quayshua and Chinese Tutiao platforms.

Thanks to these efforts, social media followers of the Supreme Committee are already at 4.5 million people – with 1.9 million followers on Facebook, while the number of followers on its Chinese accounts has increased notably over the past year, reaching 1.3 million.

Fatma Al Al-Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Supreme Committee's Communication Department, commented that the content published in the Committee's accounts contributes to highlighting various aspects of the extraordinary experience in store for the guests of Qatar 2022, as well as making them aware of the uniqueness of the tournament.

As such, the Committee's efforts are internationalized at all levels with respect to the first-ever World Cup in the Middle East, and the second-ever in Asia.

“Our local fans are our main partners in making the tournament a success, therefore we pay close attention to communicating with them through our social media accounts, as well as notifying them of all the cooperative efforts and the momentum of the work regarding FIFA Qatar 2022,” she said.
