Xavi lauds Aspetar's covid-19 vaccine programme
The Al Sadd boss visited the Aspetar hospital in Doha, where a campaign to innoculate all athletes and sports personnel in the country is underway.
Former Barcelona star Xavi Hernández, now coach of Qatar Stars League side Al Sadd SC, has praised Qatar’s covid-19 vaccination programme at the Aspetar sports medicine and orthopaedics hospital in Doha.
Aspetar published a video on its Twitter page after Xavi visited the hospital to receive his covid-19 vaccine during which the Al Sadd coach met some of the medical personnel responsible for the rollout of the campaign.
Xavi and many other athletes in Qatar have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus through Aspetar’s programme.
Xavi: "Everyone is working together to curb the spread of covid-19"
“I would like to thank the staff at Aspetar, which is an excellent hospital with amazing, world-class capabilities and is extremely well-organized thanks to the hugely experienced staff who work here,” Xavi said.
“Aspetar is a key part of Qatar sport, like the Aspire Academy and the clubs, which are all run in an incredible way in trying to contain the pandemic. Everyone here is working together to curb the spread of covid-19 and the vaccination campaign aimed at Aspetar athletes is an example of this, with all athletes benefitting from it across the board.”
Aspetar began its vaccination campaign as part of its role in preventing the spread of covid-19, which also led to the implementation of the Aspetar medical protocol which has been put into effect during all sporting competitions held in Qatar, with the objective of keeping all participating athletes safe.
Aspetar has committed to vaccinating all athletes in Qatar through its campaign, in addition to all personnel at the Aspire Zone, which is primarily focused on the first and second division clubs playing in the Qatar Stars League.
