Striker Kylian Mbappé has reportedly told PSG he won't be renewing his contract as he plots an end-of-season move to Real Madrid.

Mbappé tells PSG he wants move, eyes summer Real Madrid switch

Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappé has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he won’t be renewing his deal with the Ligue 1 giants, according to reports.

Mbappé tells PSG he's leaving

Mbappé is out of contract in June 2022 and has stalled on signing an extension at the Parc des Princes, despite repeated attempts by PSG sporting director Leonardo to tie him down to fresh terms.

And Spanish broadcasters Cuatro and Cadena SER both now report that the 22-year-old, who starred in PSG’s Champions League win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday, has told the club that he intends to leave.

Mbappé wants summer switch to Real Madrid

If Mbappé won't sign a new contract, PSG must decide whether to cash in on the star at the end of the season, or hold him to the final year of his deal and let him depart for free in 2022.

However, Cuatro and SER say the France international is determined to swap PSG for Real Madrid this summer.

Although other clubs are interested in the World Cup winner, Mbappé has set his heart on playing for Los Blancos, who have made him a cornerstone of their ambitious plans for the team they want to have in place when they launch their revamped stadium in late 2022 or early 2023.

Real Madrid long-term Mbappé admirers

Mbappé has long been in Madrid's sights. The Spanish champions sought to sign the striker when he left Monaco in summer 2017, but were put off by the price and saw him move to PSG instead.

However, the club has maintained good relations with the player's camp, Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane regularly exchanging messages with his compatriot.

Three-time Ligue 1 winner with PSG

In nearly four seasons at PSG, Mbappé has scored 122 goals in 162 appearances, helping the Parisians to three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupes de France and the 2019/20 Champions League final.

Madrid also eyeing Dortmund star Haaland

Mbappé isn’t the only marquee signing Madrid are eyeing ahead of the summer transfer window. Club president Florentino Pérez is also keen to swoop for Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Braut Haaland, and has initiated contact with the Norwegian’s representatives.

Like Mbappé, the 20-year-old - who has scored 49 goals in 51 appearances for Dortmund - has identified the Spanish capital as his destination of choice.
