PSG vs Bayern Munich: live online Champions League 2020/21

Bayern Munich will try to overturn a 3-2 deficit from the opening leg of their first quarter-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the French capital on Tuesday.

PSG managed to upset the German powerhouses at the Allianz Arena 2-3 with a decisive Kylian Mbappé starring in the absence of the Bavarians' superstar Robert Lewandowski.

Champions mindset

After losing to Lille in Ligue 1, Mauricio Pochettino’s men seemed to switch on their Champions League mindset to perform at their best against the team that beat them in last season’s final.

After that, PSG easily beat Strasbourg 4-1 last weekend and are sitting second in the French league, three points behind leaders Lille, whereas Hansi Flick’s outfit were only able to grab a point against Union Berlin. Bayern, though, are leading the Bundesliga, with only three loses in 28 matches.

PSG have weaknesses too

Even though the French team have impressed in recent fixtures, especially against Barcelona at Camp Nou and in the last encounter with Bayern, the current Champions League titleholders know that the squad led by Neymar and Mbappé also has weaknesses, as they showed in the second leg against Barcelona or in their defeat to Lille.

Florenzi and Verrati, ready after testing negative

PSG's coronavirus-affected duo Alessandro Florenzi and Marco Verratti will be able to play in the second leg after producing negative tests, while Marquinhos will be unavailable after being injured in the first match against Bayern.

Abdou Diallo could be back, but Mauro Icardi and Layvin Kurzawa will miss out.

Keylor Navas had to be replaced at half time against Strasbourg due to a muscular problem, but the Costa Rica goalkeeper will likely feature in the starting XI, while Neymar and Mbappé will once again test Manuel Neuer’s reflexes up front.

Bayern to attempt comeback without Lewandowski

As for Bayern, they will be without Lewandowski for the second leg, so Choupo-Moting will again take his spot. Serge Gnabry also missed the first leg after returning a positive coronavirus test, and won’t play on Tuesday, while Kingsley Coman should be fit for the game.

Niklas Sule is expected to miss out with a muscular issue, while Javi Martínez may be called upon to fill in if Marc Roca, Leon Goretzka and Jerome Boateng are not ready to play.
