Two of the main favorites to lift the Champions League trophy this season meet at the Parc des Princes one Wednesday, as they do battle for a spot in the final.

PSG vs Man City live online: 2021 Champions League semi-final

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the semi-finals after knocking current champions Bayern Munich out of the competition on away goals. Les Parisiens had previously beaten FC Barcelona quite comfortably. In both knockout ties, Kylian Mbappé was the deciding factor for the French side.

Champions League a dream for both sides

PSG are out to win the most important European competition for the first time, a dream that is shared by Manchester City, who have become the bête noire of the German teams, as they defeated Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach to get to this round.

Both teams go into the first leg match after having positive results last weekend. Pep Guardiola’s side beat Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup final, while the French giants won their Ligue 1 match against Metz 3-1.

PSG are currently sitting second in the French league standings, with 72 points, one behind leaders Lille, while the Citizens have a clear lead in the Premier League, with a 10-point advantage over city neighbors Manchester United.

Mbappé expected to be ready to play

All eyes were on Mbappé last weekend, as the French star left the field in the match against Metz due to injury, but he should be fit and ready to play from the start on Wednesday.

Keylor Navas and Marco Verratti are also expected to be in the starting XI, while Marquinhos and Abdou Diallo could be fit in time to play the first leg. Juan Bernat is the only long-term absentee.

If Mbappe is passed fit, he will play alongside Ángel Di Maria and Neymar up front.

Ederson and Stones return for City

As for the visitors, John Stones will return to the squad after serving the first of a three-game domestic suspension and could take Aymeric Laporte’s spot in the heart of the defence.

Ederson will return between the sticks despite Zack Steffen’s good performance in the EFL Cup final and Rodri will likely replace Fernandinho in midfield.

Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva will also fight for a spot to feature from the start, while Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden will be the men to menace Keylor Navas’ goal in the attack together with Kevin De Bruyne, as Sergio Agüero probably won't be rushed back into action.
