Brenden Aaronson scores first brace for RB Salzburg
The United States international made his 17th appearance in the Austrian Bundesliga and scored his first brace for RB Salzburg on matchday 29.
Brenden Aaronson joined RB Salzburg on 1 January and he has rapidly adapted to the Austrian Bundesliga. The United States international started the game against SK Sturm Graz on matchday 29 and scored his first brace in Europe to give his team the victory and the points to remain in first place with 42 points and a record of 22-2-5.
Successful few months for Aaronson
Aaronson has fitted in like a glove at RB Salzburg with seven goals and three assists in 22 appearances across all competitions. The United States men’s national team player has already won his first trophy with his new team, because earlier this week Red Bull Salzburg defeated LASK 3-0 in the final of the Austrian Cup this season.
In that game, he scored the second goal of the game after receiving the ball at the top of the box on the counter-attack and rifling his shot to find the back of the net. He has not missed a game since joining the Austrian side and has met expectations by becoming a regular starter for manager Jesse Marsch.
Red Bull Salzburg are sitting comfortably in first place of the 2020/21 Austrian Bundesliga season and they have secured a ticket for the playoffs. The team managed by the American Jesse Marsch is the team to beat to lift the league title this year, before he departs to the German Bundesliga next season to coach RB Leipzig.
