Tuchel: Chelsea benefitting from Lampard work
Thomas Tuchel says Chelsea are finishing the job started by an "amazing" Frank Lampard ahead of a vital few weeks for the Blues.
Chelsea boss Tuchel has been lauded for the dramatic turnaround in results he has overseen at Stamford Bridge since his January appointment.
His side will compete for FA Cup and Champions League glory against Leicester City and Manchester City this month and are in control of their own destiny in the race for a top-four finish.
Tuchel, though, was not shy in recognising the contribution made by his predecessor and fan favourite Lampard in making those opportunities for silverware possible.
"Frank had an amazing record in the group stage of the Champions League," said Tuchel, who received a good luck message from the Englishman early in his tenure but has not been in contact since.
"He won all the FA Cup games. He's laid the foundation to get us to finals and we don't feel ashamed or have any fear to speak it out loud.
"It felt like that on the first day. I am aware Frank created his own legacy as a player and made it bigger as a coach.
"We stepped in halfway through the season and tried to fulfil the job he had began.
"Frank resembles everything you think about Chelsea. You think about Frank Lampard, the way he is, how he played football.
"This shows his character and the message he sent was a pleasure to receive. We had a message a couple of days after we arrived but nothing more."
Tuchel's Chelsea favorites against the Gunners
A win for the hosts would be important to cement their position among the top four teams, although Chelsea are also thinking about their Champions League final against Manchester City and the FA Cup final showdown with Leicester City on May 15.
Arsenal will have a tough task against Chelsea if they want to upset Tuchel’s squad, as the Blues are currently on a seven-game unbeaten run across all competitions and have claimed 22 points from 27 on offer in London derbies this season.

Arsenal 12 points off Chelsea
Arteta's men were eliminated from the Europa League in the semi-finals and approach a midweek match with Chelsea ninth in the Premier League.
Arsenal are 12 points off Chelsea and the top four – Champions League qualification no longer a possibility with three games remaining – and four points shy of seventh, which is set to be enough to reach the Europa Conference League.
They are also four short of last season's points tally, which was their lowest since 1994-95.
Arteta not pleased with entire Arsenal squad
Mikel Arteta hinted at dissatisfaction with some players in his Arsenal squad as he suggested only "the majority" had given their all this season.
Arteta has discussed the need to rebuild in the transfer market, with some members of his team already performing to the extent of their underwhelming potential.
But others have let Arsenal down, the manager suggested.
Asked if his players had given their maximum, Arteta replied: "With the majority of them, yes.
"Some of them can get to a certain level and you cannot push them any further. You want to evolve them but it's not possible.
"When I said a majority, I did not say all of them. Some have a big contribution to make to those results."
