Manchester United 2-4 Liverpool: result, goals, summary, protests
Manchester United 2-4 Liverpool: as it happened
And that's it! The whistle goes and Liverpool claim all three points in an excellent game of football at Old Trafford.
Rashford! The England forward is through and narrowly misses the far post with a clipped effort!
This will be Klopp's first victory at Old Trafford since his arrival at Liverpool.
Salah makes way for Neco Williams.
Four minutes added at Old Trafford.
United have everybody forward looking for the equaliser and Salah charges from his own half to slot home and ensure Liverpool victory!
A glorious lay-off from Cavani off his chest to Greenwood gives the youngster a sniff of goal but he pulls his shot wide.
Cavani is not amused as he goes in the book for a challenge on Thiago and lets the ref and the prostrate Liverpool player know about it.
Rashford goes to ground in the area under very little pressure from Alexander-Arnold and the ref is having none of that.
Fernandes is clutching his ankle again... the United midfielder may not make the full 90 here.
Fernandes! The Portuguese blasts over the bar from a free kick on the edge of the area.
Rashford! The forward is through on the left and smashes into the side netting. Cavani points out a pull back would have been nice but Rashford hadn't seen him.
Mané! The sub is through but Henderson makes a fine last-ditch save at the Senegal forward's feet.
A Liverpool attack breaks down and Henderson attempts to get United on the front foot again.
Off the line! Phillips! United close to a third but the Liverpool defender saves the day!
United break quickly from the back and the ball is funnelled through to Rashford, who slots home on the run to get the home side back in it!
United finally manage to get Cavani in behind the Liverpool defence but Phillips mops up for a corner.
Fred makes way for Mason Greenwood as Solskjaer shuffles his deck.
United get into a pickle again bringing the ball out and this time it's Wan-Bissaka who gifts possession to Liverpool for Alexander-Arnold to drive through on goal. Henderson again spares his defender's blushes.
Shaw delivers, Phillips clears.
United have a useful looking free kick out on the left now...
Jota! Off the post! Liverpool had the fourth at their mercy there with a crisp passing move from right to left but the Portuguese sees his shot fly off Henderson's left stick.
Williams is pulled up for a crunching challenge on Rashford.
Sustained Liverpool pressure in the United half fails to produce a breakthrough for the visitors but Klopp will be happy enough to keep the ball at that end of the pitch. Just the one shot on target for United so far.
We're back up and running after a lengthy pause for Jota to receive treatment after a clash with Bailly, which earns the Ivorian a booking.
Liverpool make it three from their first attack of the half! A series of defensive errors from United culminates in the Brazilian sweeping home after Henderson had repelled Alexander-Arnold's effort.
Back underway!
Good news for United fans as Fernandes re-emerges for the second half.
If the result remains in Liverpool's favour Klopp's side will move up to fifth in the table, four points behind Chelsea.

United pour forward for one final attack but the whistle goes and that's the half!
The Brazilian meets an excellent free kick from the right with a thumping header that Henderson barely sees let alone has time to react to. What a turnaround! Liverpool lead at Old Trafford.
It looks as though the Portguese twisted his ankle there after swinging his boot at a shot.
And potential problems for United as Fernandes goes down in agony.
Three minutes added to the first half.
United looking the more threatening going forward at the moment but the final ball is not in the same postcode. Pogba had a chance to slip Cavani in but found a Liverpool defender instead and Shaw's cross from the left does likewise.
Pogba! The Frenchman got hold of that shot off his left peg but it smashes into the side netting.
It's end to end stuff now as both sides have got the bit between their teeth.
Liverpool are level as the Portuguese turns in an attempted shot with a cheeky back heel. Lovely work from the former Wolves forward.
Henderson! That is a fine save from the United keeper to keep Jota's ferocious strike out.
Close! Pogba meets the ball at the far stick and tries to turn it back across goal for Cavani. In the end the ball bobs just wide of the far post as the Uruguayan clearly wasn't expecting the invitation.
McTominay! The Scot gets on the end of Luke Shaw's corner but plants his header over. Seems it took a deflection though as United get another.
It seems to be the Bailly challenge that is being reviewed. He did get a lick of the ball but he also scythed right through Philiiips.
Penalty! Liverpool are awarded a spot kick, whether for a handball or Bailly's robust challenge on Phillips remains unclear. VAR poking its nose in...
Salah and Lindelof tussle on the right and the Egyptian earns his side a corner.
Jota! Salah lifts the ball into the area for the Portuguese but Henderson does well to block his stab towards the sticks.
The home side with plenty of the ball at the moment, Liverpool pinned back in their own half unable to shake off the sustained United attack.
United pump the ball forward towards Cavani but the Uruguayan had zero support there and it trundles through to Alisson.
Jota feeds Robertson on the left but the Scot's cross evades the few green shirts attempting to get on the end of it.
Salah! The Egyptian breaks through on the right but United close ranks quickly to block his shot.
United have been very much the comeback kings in the Premier League this season, How will Solskjaer's side react to going ahead here?
The Portuguese is left to his own devices in the area and clips a shot towards goal. It takes a huge deflection on its way in and completely wrong-foots Alisson. Huge goal for United, not very good news for Liverpool in their bid for Champions League football.
Cavani! What an error from Alisson, whose attempted ball out from the back falls straight to the Uruguayan. Cavani drags his shot wide though, to the evident relief of the Liverpool keeper.
What a tackle from Bailly to deny Firmino! The defender had to be inch-perfect there and picked the Brazilian's pocket to prevent a shot on goal.
We're off!
Still plenty of protesters outside Old Trafford, still plenty of police making sure they stay outside. We're about 10 mins from kick-off now!
Manchester United starting XI confirmed
No surprises at all from Solskjaer with his starting line-up. Cavani will lead the line with support from Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.
Liverpool starting XI confirmed
Klopp has named his starting XI with Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips both drafted into the back line. Perhaps a slight surprise with the inclusion of Diogo Jota up front instead of Sadio Mané but otherwise as strong a line-up as the Liverpool boss can muster given his injury list.
One for the Liverpool fans... there are some belters in here. We should have some team news for this evening's game soon.
Liverpool arrive at Old Trafford
And here we have confirmation that Jürgen Klopp's players and staff have arrived safely at the ground. Reportedly the red Liverpool bus that was hemmed into a street earlier on was a decoy.
Riot police are on duty outside the ground to keep the United fans at bay. Apparently Sir Alex Ferguson turned up a minute ago and they parted to let the great man pass, like Moses through the Red Sea. He will tend to have that effect, will Fergie.
United fans continue protest
There are a number of protesters outside Old Trafford again, with a hefty police presence keeping an eye on them. However, reports are that the Liverpool bus has made it to the stadium and the United players all turned up early to avoid any issues so we should have ourselves a game of football this evening.
Bruno Fernandes on Liverpool
The Portuguese star said he expects a difficult game against Liverpool. "I hope everyone can enjoy it, but in the end us more than them."
Jürgen Klopp on the other hand has a raft of players missing for this fixture: Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Ozan Kabak, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and James Milner are all unavailable for the Liverpool boss.
United have a few injury problems going into this one with Anthony Martial, Harry Maguire, Daniel James and Phil Jones all out. The in-form Edinson Cavani will lead the line for the home side having knocked in 15 goals for United this season, enough to earn the Uruguayan a contract extension for 2021-22.
Manchester City crowned Premier League champions 2020-21
City were confirmed as Premier League champions with three games to spare after United lost 1-2 at home to Leicester on Tuesday.
Pep Guardiola's City side, who missed the chance to seal the title when they were beaten 1-2 by Chelsea on Saturday, are 10 points clear of United, who also have three games left.
Assuming the two sides manage to get onto the turf this evening it should be a decent game. The title may have been decided by Leicester's defeat of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side but Liverpool are still chasing a Champions League spot and are now seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea with two games in hand on Thomas Tuchel's men.

Man Utd vs Liverpool postponed after pitch protest at Old Trafford
The protests on 2 May were staged by United fans against the Glazer family, who own the club, after United's part in the failed European Super League breakaway. Fans managed to get into Old Trafford and onto the pitch.
But now things appear to be running according to plan and the LFC bus is heading towards Old Trafford.
And it appears the same agents are potentially at work this evening with reports that the Liverpool team bus is being blocked in a street after the tires on another official LFC bus were let down.
