Heat ice cold from field to start

MIami shot a dismal 31% from the field in the first half, and trailed by as many as 19 points. They went to the half down 13, and it could have been more if Milwaukee didn’t struggle from the field as well going just over 40% from the field in the first two quarters.

The Heat stayed cool to start the third quarter scoring  just six points in the opening four minutes of the half. Meanwhile the Bucks caught fire from downtown hitting 7 of 10 three in the third quarter. The Bucks stretched the lead out to 30and cruised to another comfortable win over a Heat team that looked flat all night.

Bucks won the battle of the boards

Milwaukee held the Heat to just 37% form the field, while dominating the battle of the boards 60-45, eleven of those on the offensive end.

Game 1 hero Khris Middleton led all scorers with 22 points, as six Bucks players had double digits. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a monster night on the boards, with 17 rebounds to go along with his 17 points.

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo were both better in Game 3, but a far cry from what they need to be to knock off the Bucks who are rolling on the offensive end.

Bucks D could be the key to a title run

There have never been any questions of Milwaukee’s ability to score the basketball, but if this team starts locking down on the defensive end the Eastern Conference contenders could be in trouble.

Miami will have one more shot to extend the series at home on Saturday afternoon. Even if they win, they will have to something that only three teams in NBA history have done, win a series after being down 3-0.

Under 30 minutes to go until tip off here from American Airlines Arena.

The Bucks went 20-16 on the road this year.

What does the Greek Freak have instore today?

17,000 are expected at the American Airlines Arena.

The Miami Heat have only comeback from 2-0 down just once in franchise histroy. It came in the 2006 NBA Finals against the Dallas Maveriks.

Giannis will of course be getting all the headlines, but Khris Middleton is averaging 22 ppg through the first two matchups of this series.

There have been only three teams in NBA history to comeback from a 3-0 deficit and win the series.. The Rochester Royals did it in the 1951 FInals. The Jazz did it in 1994, and the most recent was the Mavs in 2003.

If the Bucks win tonight, a 3-0 deficit would be nearly impossible to overcome.

The Heat battled until the last second in the opener, before losing on a Khris Middleton buzzer beater.

Hello everyone and welcome to American Airlines Arena where Miami needs a bounce back game to get back into this series.

The Milwaukee Bucks will take a 2-0 lead to Miami for Game 3 from American Airlines Arena. AS English will be providing live coverage, scores, stats and highlights to tonight’s must win game for the Miami Heat.

The Miami Heat topped the Bucks 4-1 in last years Eastern Conference semifinal in route to their run to the NBA Finals. This year the Bucks are painting a different picture. After squeaking out an overtime home victory in the opener, the Bucks demolished a Heat team who looked drained physically and emotionally after playing the extra session in Game 1.

Khris Middleton was the headline maker in the first game of the series, scoring 27 points and dropping the OT game winner with a half second to go on the game clock. Giannis had 26 in the opener, and played more of a distributor role late in the game as the Heat tried to limit his production on the offensive end.

After a heartbreaking loss in Game 1, the Heat seemed depleted coming into the second game of the series.  The Bucks did Miami no favors by hitting 10 of their first 15 three pointers in the first quarter. Milwaukee put the game out of reach before the end of the opening 12 minutes.

Bryn Forbes blazed the trail for the Bucks, hitting four long balls, dropping 14 points in the first quarter. The 26 points first quarter Heat deficit could not be overcome, as the home side held a 30 points advantage over Miami for much of the game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was the Game 2 leader with 31 points, he is averaging 28.5 points and over 15 rebounds over the first couple games of the series. Miami have had no answer for the Greek Freak in the first two games.

The Heat problems are based on a blend of inability to stop the Giannis and the Bucks, and the disappearance of Jimmy Butler over the first two games. Butler, who leads the team in scoring, is averaging 13.5 points in the series going into Game 3. Bam Adebayo is getting just 12.5 a night and it’s been the bench players that have led the Heat to this point in the series.

The American Airlines Arena will be packed with 17,000 fans willing their Heat on to an opening victory in the series. Butler will have to be great tonight, while the Heat search for an answer to Giannis and the Bucks top scoring offense.
