Haaland set to lead Dortmund attack in 2021/22 season
The German club have placed a €200 million price tag on Haaland. Chelsea are closing in. Madrid will have to wait.
Erling Haaland has a dream known to those closest to him: to one day play for Real Madrid. But he will have to wait until at least 2022 to see his dream come true. AS has already revealed that Borussia Dortmund have set a price of €200 million on the Norwegian striker. The €200 million is €70 million more than Transfermarkt's €130 million. It's another way of saying "I'm not selling him to you". In any case, the German club's decision, already expressed repeatedly, is to not sell their star striker this year, and that until 2022 they will not consider his future being elsewhere. Haaland currently has three more years left on his contract.
AS can reveal another piece of information, one that reinforces the German club's decision. AS understands that Haaland has moved house. He has left the house he has lived in for the past two years and has made the move to another home in Dortmund. He was in training with Norway a few days ago in Marbella to play a friendly against Luxembourg. Norway won 1-0, with Haaland scoring to break a four-match scoreless run for his national team. They also played against Greece, losing 2-1. Norway won't be playing at this summer's European Championship and the Dortmund star's focus is on the qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which he considers key to building to his profile. For the time being, he has gone on holiday to take his mind off everything that is going on around him.
Haaland's phenomenal record
In the 2020/21 campaign, he notched a hugely impressive 41 goals in 41 games. Haaland used to live in the residential area of Hörde by the Fenix Lake in Dortmund, near the Westfalkenpark, where Borussia's Signal Iduna Park is located. He has now moved to a house further south of Dortmund, in the residential area of Hohensyburg. He completed the move before leaving with Norway for the national team training camp in Marbella, further demonstrating that he wants to continue living in the area and will stay at the Bundesliga club.
Champions League football priority
Haaland, who turns 21 on July 21, has agreed to stay at Borussia this year following their qualification for next year's Champions League. Otherwise he would have asked to leave. Madrid already know that with Haaland they have to wait until 2022. Mino Raiola, his agent, knows that in a year's time the conditions for the departure of his client will be more favourable for a move. Madrid continue to wait.
