How many times have the Bucks, Suns reached the NBA Finals?

The Milwaukee Bucks will face the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals, with the Bucks out to end a half-century championship drought and the Suns aiming to win their first ever NBA title.

Milwaukee Bucks' first NBA Finals appearance since the 1970s

For the Milwaukee Bucks, who beat the Atlanta Hawks 4-2 to win the Eastern Conference Finals, this will be the third NBA Finals appearance in the franchise’s history.

It will also be their first for 47 years, having last vied for the NBA championship in 1973/74, losing the Finals 4-3 to the Boston Celtics.

The Bucks’ only other Finals appearance, in 1970/71, brought their sole NBA title to date, courtesy of a 4-0 series victory over the Baltimore Bullets.

Third time lucky for the Phoenix Suns?

The Phoenix Suns, who earned a 4-2 series win over the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Finals, will also be competing in their third NBA Finals.

They last made it this far in 1992/93, going down 4-2 to the Chicago Bulls as a team led by NBA great Michael Jordan claimed a third straight championship.

The Suns were also in the NBA Finals in 1975/76, suffering a 4-2 series reverse against the Boston Celtics.
