Nico Harrison and Jason Kidd were officially publicly announced as general manager and head coach, respectively, of the Dallas Mavericks.

Jason Kidd, 48, spent eight of his 19 seasons as a player on the Mavericks, even helping them to win the NBA championship in 2011. In 2013, he began his coaching career with the Brooklyn Nets, and has since coached for the Milwaukee Bucks and the LA Lakers before joining the Dallas Mavericks. His best coaching year was in 2014 when he led the Nets to the second round of playoffs.

Kidd to work with Doncic

Though the Mavericks haven’t won a title since the 2011 NBA Finals, Kidd is inheriting a team with a young star, not unlike himself. Luka Doncic, point guard for the Mavs, recently surpassed Kidd as the player with the most triple-doubles in Mavericks’ history.

Kidd expressed his excitement to be back in Dallas after winning rookie of the year and experiencing a championship win with the team. “If anyone out there tells you that dreams don’t come true, let them come talk to me.”
