Mbappé wants PSG exit as club remains adamant on convincing star to stay
According to L'Equipe, Mbappé still intends to leave PSG despite the club's investment in new players this summer, including Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos.
It seems increasingly likely that the future of Kylian Mbappé will not be in Paris.
The French star has already communicated to PSG his intention is not to renew his contract, which ends in June 2022, and the club is running out of maneuvers to convince him to stay.
One of those maneuvers involved investing in players this summer so as to appease the wishes of Mbappé. However, according to L’Equipe, the France international wants out as he is still not convinced the club is capable of winning the Champions League, even after the signings of Achraf Hakimi, Gini Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos.
Despite Mbappé's intentions, the position of PSG remains the same as a month ago when president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted that the club “are never going to sell” the 22-year-old. The French giant remains adamant on holding on to one of the pillars of its project and will try to do everything possible to get him to renew.
PSG-Mbappé talks stall
As reported by L’Equipe two weeks ago, Al-Khelaifi chose to step in personally oversee talks with Mbappé, which had been stalling. But even with the presence of the PSG president, talks between the club and player’s representatives have not advanced.
Real Madrid will remain attentive to the situation surrounding Mbappé, who is currently on vacation right now and, as thing stand, will have to rejoin training with PSG in nine days time.
The PSG dressing room has been aware for some time that Mbappé does not want to renew his deal at Paris. He has the clear intention of leaving Paris this or in 2022 when his contract expires.
