Nuno Espiritu’s update on Harry Kane transfer leaves more uncertainty
The Harry Kane transfer rumors rage on as City actively seeks to acquire Tottenham’s star striker, and Nuno’s updates leave more questions than answers.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly met with Manchester City about the Harry Kane trade last Sunday, and supposedly planned to make it clear that Kane is not for sale. The striker has three years left on his contract with Tottenham after signing a six-year extension in 2018. He has been the top scorer and assist-maker in the Premier League since last term, but he didn’t play on Sunday when the Spurs beat Manchester City.
How much is Manchester City willing to pay for Kane?
Despite the reluctance to sell Kane, it’s reported that Manchester City might be willing to pay a grandiose amount of €150 million in order to close the deal. The transfer deadline is fast approaching, and City has lost its last three games and a noticeable lack of striker with zero goals scored.
Nuno insists that Kane is working out with the team as usual and that he will train again with the team tomorrow. “When we return, he will join all the players and work as the group, and Harry in it.”
However, when asked whether Kane would play against the Wolves on Sunday, Nuno said he could not answer that. He said, “I can answer that he’s getting better and better, fitter, and he will join the group on Friday. Then we’ll see.”
