US Open 2021: What are the official ATP and WTA rankings?

Since the 2021 US Open kicked off on Monday, 30 August at the Billie Kean King USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY, lots of players who qualified for the main draw have been cut off, including top seeds, who found themselves eliminated earlier than expected.

Both women and men singles main draw started the final Slam of the season with 32 top seeds. However, remaining top seeds have decreased by nearly 50% in men singles with 11 of the top ranked losing their games in round 1. Among the unexpected eliminations were eighth seed Casper Ruud who lost to world no.117 Botic Van De Zandschulp, Tokyo medalist Pablo Carreño, defeated by Maxime Cressy, ranked 115 and highly fancied Alex de Minaur who lost to Taylor Fritz.

Nevertheless, a positive surprise was Carlos Alcaraz's win over top seed Cameron Norrie in round 1. The 18-year-old Spanish promise will certainly be one of the Next-Gen top picks.

It's no surprise Djokovic is the odds-on favorite to claim the title with the Serbian player set to surpass Federer and Nadal in Grand Slam titles. The Belgrade born has his eyes set on the glory and opponents will have to be on their best tennis to stop this historic moment from happening.

Medvedev and Zverev come as second and third favorite respectively and both will look to provide stern opposition to Djokovic's dominance.
