Ukraine vs France: how and where to watch - times, TV, online

It's a clash between first and second in group D as Ukraine welcome France to Kyiv on Saturday evening for the match-day 5 game of the 2022 World Cup qualifying group.

Ukraine-France

World Cup holders France suffered a setback ahead of their trip to the Ukraine capital of Kyiv with the news that Kylian Mbappé has been ruled out of 'Les Bleus' World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Finland after sustaining a calf injury in Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Bosnia, the French federation said on Thursday.

"Kylian Mbappé felt a pain in his right calf at the end of the match against Bosnia in Strasbourg on Wednesday, which means he will not be able to take part in the next two matches of the French team, in Ukraine on Saturday and against Finland in Lyon next Tuesday," the FFF said in statement.

"The Paris Saint Germain striker has been released to his club. He will leave the squad in the evening and will not be replaced for the trip to Ukraine."

Decisive fixture for Ukraine

The game is massive for the home side with a win boosting Ukraine's chances of the topping the group and securing an automatic ticket for Qatar next year. A runner-up position would see the side in question going into a play-off where only three teams progress with the ten group winners. At present 'Les Bleus' hold a four point advantage over Saturday's opposition and were the pre-competition side to secure the automatic place for the 2022 World Cup.
