Cat-astrophe at Miami football game
Some unsuspecting fans just happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right equipment to unexpectedly save a cat's life in Miami.
Breaking News: Fans save cat's life at a college football game in Miami!
What's the craziest thing you've seen at a college football game? I bet this story tops that. In the second quarter of the University of Miami college football home-opener game against the Appalachian State Mountaineers, some students noticed a cat dangling from the upper tier.
A facilities manager at the university, Craig Cromer, has season tickets to the Miami games with his wife, Kimberly Cromer, and they always hang an American flag over the railing in front of their seats. As fate would have it, that flag saved this kitty's life.
The Cromers realized what was going on and quickly acted to save the cat. They took their flag from the railing and stretched it out to create a safe landing for the cat. When the cat finally lost its grip and fell, the flag broke the fall and the cat was caught by a group of students below. The whole stadium erupted in cheers upon realizing the cat was uninjured. It was a happy ending for the cat as well as for Miami, who ended up winning 25-23.
