Romeo Beckham debuts for Fort Lauderdale at 19 years old
Former Manchester United star David Beckham's son, Romeo, made his professional soccer debut with Fort Lauderdale, a club connected with Inter Miami.
Romeo Beckham is following in his father's footsteps, making his professional soccer debut this weekend with third tier club Fort Lauderdale, a club connected with Inter Miami.
How did young Beckham fare?
The 19-year-old recently joined the club and wore number 11 as he lined up on midfield right, the same position as his father, former England captain David Beckham. The young Beckham did not have any scores or assists in his debut and the game ended in a tie 2-2 with South Georgia Tormenta. He did show some good touches and linked up well with Harvey Neville, the son of Inter Miami head coach Phil Neville.
Young Neville made his 16th appearance with the club after leaving Manchester United's academy to join his father int he US. Beckham was substituted out in the 79th minute and says he's ready to focus on the next game. Both of the teenagers will play against Greenville Triumph on October 2.
