We all know how dangerous Connor McGregor is once he steps inside the octagon, but it turns out he is equally as dangerous once he steps on to the diamond.

McGregor is no Nolan Ryan

The former UFC featherweight champion was in Chicago on Tuesday night, and threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field, before the Chicago Cubs hosted the Minnesota Twins.

McGregor is a man of many talents. He’s a mixed martial artist, a world champion, somewhat of a boxer, a hell of a business man, and an equally good trash talker. One thing he is not, is a future Cy Young winner.

Much better in the octogon then the diamond

The Dublin native took the mound, dressed to the nines in a skin tight checkered suit, and let his best fast ball fly. Cubs infielder Patrick Wisdom was sitting behind the plate, but McGregor missed him by about 20 feet wide and 10 feet high. Luckily for the fans sitting behind home plate the net stopped the wild pitch before it knocked anyone out.

Tonight wasn’t the first time we saw McGregor try his hand at American sports. Three years ago he was at AT&T Stadium for a Cowboys game, and displayed his quarterbacking abilities, or lack-there-of before kickoff. It is safe to say, after seeing him make the unorthodox throw, Jerry Jones didn’t rush down from the owners box to offer him a contract.

McGregor looks healed after breaking leg in July

The good news is McGregor looks to be fully healed after breaking his tibia in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in July.

McGregor joins the likes of Carl Lewis, Mariah Carey, and John Wall for all time worst celebrity first pitches at an MLB game.

Maybe the Irishman is a bit more comfortable to throwing a cricket ball, or a rugby ball, or a right hook (that without question), but getting to throw the first pitch out at Wrigley will make for a life long memory. He will just be hoping to forget the actual throw.
