Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has received a two-match ban for getting sent off in his side's 0-0 draw away to Cádiz on Thursday.

The pressure continues to mount on the Dutch coach after a below-average start to the season for the Blaugrana. He will miss the club's La Liga fixtures against Levante at Camp Nou on Sunday September 26 and away to Atlético Madrid Saturday October 2.

Koeman sees red

With 95 minutes on the clock at the Nuevo Mirandilla in Cádiz, Koeman received his marching orders for an incident involving Sergio Busquets. The veteran midfielder passed an extra ball that was on the pitch at Cádiz player Salvi and was subsequently booked for it. Koeman made his feelings known to the fourth official and was then sent off.

“Hey, the referee has to blow, the referee has to blow, dammit, he has to blow!” yelled Koeman, according to the referees report.

In his post-match press conference Koeman said: “In this country, they send you off for nothing”.
