Hector Herrera shoots form the distance, but his shot goes straight to the hands of the goalkeeper from Canada.

Another player that is back with the Mexican national team from a serious head injury since November of last year is Raúl Jiménez. He will get his first start this year.

Hirving Lozano is back with the Mexico national team since suffering a serious injury during the opening match of the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup campain this summer.

After a solid start for both teams in the eight team group, Mexico and Canada go head-to-head tonight in the fourth qualification match for the World Cup in Qatar 2022. The Aztecs are on top of the group with seven points and Canada currently lie in second place with five points from their three opening games.

This will be the third meeting between head coaches, Englishman John Herdman with Canada and the Argentine Gerardo Martino with Mexico with the previous two being Gold Cup clashes with 'El Tricolor' winning both contests: 3-1 in the 2019 group stage and a tricky 2-1 win in the 2021 semifinals.
