It's first against second in the CONCACAF final group of eight as Mexico face Canada at the Estadio Azteca with a 21:40 ET kick-off.
After a solid start for both teams in the eight team group, Mexico and Canada go head-to-head tonight in the fourth qualification match for the World Cup in Qatar 2022.
The Aztecs are on top of the group with seven points and Canada currently lie in second place with five points from their three opening games.
This will be the third meeting between head coaches, Englishman John Herdman with Canada and the Argentine Gerardo Martino with Mexico with the previous two being Gold Cup clashes with 'El Tricolor' winning both contests: 3-1 in the 2019 group stage and a tricky 2-1 win in the 2021 semifinals.
Solid start
Despite sitting on top of the group, Mexico have flattered to deceive under Gerardo Martino and only secured maximum points at the Azteca last time out as they struggled to beat Jamaica 2-1 with a last minute winner.
Mexco boss, 'Tata' Martino can count on three key men as he welcomes midfielder Héctor Herrera, winger Hirving Lozano and center forward Raúl Jiménez back to the side.
The match gets underway at 8:40 pm local time at the Azteca stadium, which will be able to host approximately 60,000 fans, equivalent to 75% of its total capacity (81,070 seats).
