COMMENT

The Baltimore Ravens completed one of the most incredible comebacks ever seen on Monday Night Football on the shoulders of Lamar Jackson’s career night. The Ravens quarterback passed for over 400 yards in the 31-25 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Slow start for Ravens

In a game where all the talk coming into the week was about the Ravens chances to set a record with their 44th straight 100 yard rushing game it was Lamar Jackson’s arm that led Baltimore’s sensational second half.

The Ravens offense was non existent in the first half, and really through the first 44 minutes of the game. It took Jackson and the Baltimore offense until a minute before the fourth quarter to get in the endzone.

Scoring picked up a minute into second half

Indianapolis came out firing with a quick strike 76 yard Jonathan Taylor touchdown on the Colt’s opening drive of the night. Each team exchanged field goals, to go to the halftime break 10-3. Jackson had just 107 yards after the first two quarters as the Ravens struggled to get anything going on the offensive end.

A two play 73 yard drive by the Colts in the first minute of the third quarter pushed the lead to a two possession game. Shortly after the touchdown the Ravens drove down the field but Jackson fumbled on the one yard line with under seven minutes to go in the third quarter.

Baltimore down 19 halfway through 3rd quarter

The 14 point swing was completed when the Colts marched down the field after the Ravens turnover and Taylor scored his second touchdown of the day to stretch the lead to 22-3.

Baltimore’s first touchdown finally came with under a minute to go in the third quarter when Jackson hit Hollywood Brown on a 43 yard pass to give the Ravens life going into the fourth quarter.

After a missed two point conversion attempt the Colts punched pack with a field goal drive that lengthened the lead to 16 points with 12 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Jackson responded with an six play, 78 yard drive that was finished off with a four yard pass to Mark Andrews, who would also catch and convert the two point conversion.

Colts didn't convert on two late FGs to ice game

Just minutes later Rodrigo Blankenship had a chance to put the game on ice, but the Colts kicker who was battling an apparent hip injury all night, had a field goal blocked by Calais Campbell with 4:35 left in the fourth quarter.

That was all Jackson need to lead his side down the field to even up the game at 25 after Jackson to Andrews connected on the touchdown and the two point conversion for the second time in a matter of minutes.

Blankenship had another shot to win the game for Indy, but he missed the 47 yard field goal as time expired.

With momentum on their side, and a coin flip that went their way the Ravens strolled down the field on the opening drive of the overtime session. In the end, it was Jackson to Brown for the second time to seal the comeback with a five yard game winning touchdown pass to move the Ravens to 4-1 on the year.

The Ravens failed to set the NFL record for consecutive 100 yard rushing games, but Jackson set a franchise record, a career high, and an NFL record, and he did it with his arm. His 442 yards in the air set a Ravens record and a career high, while his 86% completion percentage was the best among any of the 400 yard passing games in NFL history.

Prediction: 27-17

The Colts defense has been playing better, but they are going up agaist a different beast tonght in Lamar Jackson. The former MVP is loving the deep ball this year and I think he and Hollywood Brown have a big night tonight.

According to Bet365.com the Ravens are 7.5 point favorites over the Indianapolis Colts, while the Over/Under is set at 46.5.

Tyson Bowser getting into the action with the Ravens faithful as well.

I'm really liking the pregame routine that's been sweeping the NFL. Players, both home and away, are starting to play catch with fans in the stands.

Can the Colts make it two wins in the last two weeks? We have four quarters to find out, but the drip is undefeated.

QB1 taking the field, and the Ravens are in the Blacks jerseys with the purple pants tonight.

Hollywood getting ready pregame, will he light this fragile Colts secondary up tonight?

Drip time before game time for Hollywood Brown and Lamar Jackson

Harbaugh did come under fire after opting not to kneel down in the final seconds of the Ravens win over Denver. Broncos coach Vic Fangio was less than impressed with Harbay

What the Ravens have done after losing their top three running backs at the start of the season has been heroic. It’s probably why coach John Harbaugh was so intent on continuing the 100 yards rushing streak against the Broncos last week.

It seems like ages ago that Baltimore lost on opening week amidst their early season injury crisis. The Ravens were a deflected pass and interception away from winning that game against the Raiders and having one of two undefeated records in the entire NFL.

The Colts new look offense has yet to take off. They are 22nd in scoring and 25th in yards per game.

As always the spotlight will be on the former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson who is coming off one of the best passing games of his career. He had over 300 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos in Week 4.

Hello everyone and welcome to MT&T Stadium where the Ravens will be hoping to keep pace with the rest of the AFC leaders at 4-1.

The Baltimore Ravens have a finish Week 5 of the NFL regular season at 4-1 and a tie for the best record in the AFC. The Indianapolis Colts come make the journey east after winning just once in their opening four games. AS English will be keeping you up to date with live coverage, stats, scores and highlights from MT&T Stadium.

Ravens could end night with best record in AFC

After dropping their season opener in overtime to the Las Vegas Raiders the Ravens have rattled off three straight wins. It hasn’t been as comfortable as their record might dictate. Coach John Harbaugh’s side beat the Chiefs in a one point shoot out win, and the broke the Lions heart with a record breaking 66-yard game winning Justin Tucker field goal to edge Detroit 19-17.

Last week Lamar Jackson had one of his all time best passing performances against the Denver Broncos. The former NFL MVP threw for 316 yards and a touchdown on 22/37 passing, while running for another 28 yards.

Baltimore D tightening up

The Baltimore defense seems to have course corrected after a bumpy start to the season in which they gave up 34 points per game through the first two weeks. Since then, the historically stingy Ravens D has given up just 12 points a game over their last two contests.

Indianapolis finally got on the winning track with a 27-17 win over the Miami Dolphins last week. Their offseason acquisition Carson Wentz has been steady in his first few games in the horseshoe helmet, but last week he played the role of game manager to a tee. He had a sky high completion percentage, completing 24/32 passes and had two touchdowns on 228 yards in the air.

Starting running back Johnathan Taylor had his first 100 yard outing of the sesaon posting 103 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.

What is the Colts plan for Lamar Jackson?

The Colts secondary will have to be vigilant of this new look Lamar Jackson who has been locked in with the deep ball this year. We all know about Jackson’s ability with his feet, but Jackson’s four passing touchdowns have come from the long ball. If he continues this trend opposing defenses will have to play him more honestly down the field which will open up all sorts of space for the former Louisville Cardinal to rack up yards with his legs.

There’s little doubt that the Ravens will base their offense around Jackson and the run game that has reached 100 yards in a record tying 44 consecutive games, but the Colts defensive unit is 29th in the league against the pass. Coach Harbaugh and the Ravens will look to exploit that as Carson Wentz will be hoping improve upon last week’s performance in the win against the Dolphins.

Kick off from Baltimore is set for 8:15 p.m. ET
