What were the Bucs-Eagles player ratings in NFL Week 6
Tom Brady had a big first half to lead the Buccaneers to a 28-22 victory in Philadelphia. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles struggled for the first three quarters.
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers used a big first half to jump out to and early lead and let the defense do the rest. Jalen Hurts almost orchestrated a comeback late in the game, but the Bucs held on for their fifth win of the year.
Tampa Bay skill player ratings:
Tom Brady QB: 7.5
Brady had a solid game, although he wasn’t at his best. He came in with a sore thumb after slamming it against a Dolphins defender’s helmet last week. No. 12 had a brilliant first 25 minutes, but seemed to dip in form as the game went on. I’ll take a Brady at 80% over almost any QB in the league. He finished with 297 yards, two touchdowns and a pick on 34/42 passing.
Leonard Fournette RB: 8
Great night for the running back that was almost cut by Tampa Bay by coach Bruce Arians last year. He has 127 yards of total offense, including 81 yards on 22 carries and was a constant threat catching passes out of the backfield. He scored the final two touchdowns to seal the game for the Bucs.
Antonio Brown WR: 7
The man Tom Brady calls a football genius had another solid game. He has taken on the role of big play receiver in Tampa, but today got plenty of targets and made the most of them including a 23 yard TD reception in the first quarter. Ended the game with nine catches for 93 yards.
Chris Godwin WR: 4.5
Didn’t have a whole lot to do tonight. He was overshadowed by Brown and TE O.J. Howard but had five catches for 43 yards.
Mike Evans WR: 3
Had a 22 yards catch in the first half, but other than that was kept quiet all night. Finished with just 2 catches for 27 yards
O.J. Howard. TE: 6.5
Nice night for the man filling in for Rob Gronkowski. Had the game’s first touchdown after Brady dropped a dime right in his bread basket. Ended with six catches and 49 yards.
Philadelphia skill player ratings:
Jalen Hurts QB: 3.5
A night to forget statistically for Hurts. Despite almost making the comeback he went just 12/26 for 115 yards with a TD and a pick. He did have 44 yards on 10 rushes, but he is paid to be a quarterback. Didn’t get much help for the coaching staff, who chose not to run the ball until the fourth quarter.
Miles Sanders RB: 5.5
Had just one rush in the first half, and was barley used until the fourth quarter. Has to be frustrating for Sanders, who showed signs of brilliance when he had the ball in his hands. Finished with 56 yards on nine rushes.
Quez Watkins WR: 3.5
He was the top receiver for the Eagles, and had just three receptions for 44 yards. That tells you all you need to know about how Philly’s night went offensively.
DeVonta Smith WR: 2
Last year’s Heisman Trophy winner had just two catches for 31 yards. Still a long way to go for the Hurts-Smith duo to replicate the success they had at the University of Alabama.
Jalen Reagor WR: 4
While he didn’t have a catch all night, he may have been Philly’s best receiver. Got open on two long balls that ended up being two pass interference calls for a total of 95 yards. Both plays set up touchdown drives.
Zach Ertz TE: 4
Had the Eagles first TD, and things looked bright the home side early on. He was quiet after that with just three catches the rest of the game. The TE ended with 29 yards.
