What scoring records has Erling Haaland broken? Champions League, Bundesliga...

Ahead of Erling Haaland's 25th Champions League appearance on Tuesday as Borussia Dortmund take on Ajax, we take a look at the records broken by the Norwegian goal machine to date.

Erling Haaland has broken several records since he catapulted himself into the global footballing spotlight with his first half hat-trick for RB Salzburg in his Champions League debut against Genk in September 2019.

He went on to score a goal against Liverpool at Anfielld, a further two against Napoli, with his six goals the most scored by any player in their first three Champions League matches.

After scoring in the reverse fixtures against Napoli (penalty) and Genk, the Norwegian striker became the youngest-ever player to score in five consecutive matches in the competition, and the first-ever teenager to do so.

He failed to score in the following game against Liverpool as RB Salzburg lost 2-0 and were subsequently eliminated from the competition. It would prove to be his last game for the Austrian club, as he made the €20 million switch to Borussia Dortmund in January 2020, where he would go on to smash more records.

Erling Haaland News:

Haaland’s records at Dortmund

With his hat-trick in his Dortmund debut against Augsburg in January 2020, which he managed in a mere 23 minutes after coming on as a substitute, and a brace against Koln, again scored from off the bench, Haaland became the first Bundesliga player to score five goals in his opening two matches, as well as the fastest player to reach that tally. Having played just 56 minutes in those two games, he managed an average goal every ten and a half minutes.

Haaland would go on to score 20 goals in his first 14 Champions League games, becoming the fastest player to reach 20 Champions League goals; while he is also the fastest player to have reached 25 goals in any of Europe's top five leagues this century, taking just 25 games to reach the milestone with Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

With 70 goals in 68 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions, the 21-year-old forward is also the first Dortmund player to score on his Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal debut.

And if all these records weren’t enough, the Norwegian international also holds the world record for the longest standing long jump for a five-year-old. Back in 2006 he raised the age-group bar to a distance of 1.63m.

Haaland to make 25th UCL appearance against Ajax

On Tuesday he will make his 25th UCL appearance when Dortmund face Ajax in Amsterdam, where he will look to add to his 25-goal tally in the competition -- a staggering figure to be reached in just 24 appearances to date. No doubt the Norwegian will keep smashing records for many years to come.
