Halloween is just days away and to celebrate many are looking for the best haunted houses in their areas. We took a look at some of the best options.

Spooky season is here and with Halloween just days away many are looking to explore some of the activities that come along with the celebration. Namely, corn mazes and haunted houses.
Our team took a look at the best options for those in Illinois, Texas, and Michigan.
Illinois
This year, Groupon the discount experience retailer, provided data on which states have the highest levels of Halloween enthusiasm based on sales information. Illinois ranked fifth on the list based on data collected for Halloween-related Groupons over the last five years.

Basement of the Dead is located in Aurora is one of the most visited and highest-rated haunted houses in the state. Open since 2000, it has been rated one of the scariest haunted houses in the nation. Visitors can expect, the "scariest actors, crazies scenes, and amazing set design, plus one of the industries best 3D haunted houses."
Those looking for a real fright can visit Basement of the Dead any day this week until 31 October or on 6 November. Tickets range in price between $27 and $69 depending on whether visitors are interested in skipping the general admission lines.

The largest corn maze in the world, Richardson Adventure Farm, is in Spring Grove. The four mazes that can be found at Richardson Adventure Farm total over ten miles. The farm also is home to a zipline, pumpkin patch, and more.

Michigan

Haunted Houses and Asylums
Michigan is home to over forty-haunted houses. One of the most well regarded is Erebus which provides visitors with "terrifying thrills, unforgettable moments of laughter, and blood-curdling screams." Erebus opened in 1981 and has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. The haunted house will be open until 31 Halloween, with additional visits available on 5-6 November. Tickets range in price from $24 to $30 depending on the date one wishes to visit.

Corn Mazes
Those looking for more family-friendly fun have plenty of options in Michigan. Covering over six acres, Gull Meadow Farms is big enough to keep people busy for an entire afternoon or evening. Located in Richland, those interested can purchase tickets for $14.

Texas

One of the highest-rated haunted houses, Dark Hour is found in Plano. Dark Hour prides itself on its acting and set design and will be open through 31 October. Tickets cost anywhere between $15 and $70 depending on the experience the visitor is looking for. Another popular option is Amarillo Scareground which is divided into five areas of fright, Insanitarium, Terror, The Basement, Blackout Maze, Axe Slinger Society, and Xcape Room Village.

Corn Mazes
For those who will not have time to participate in one of these activities before Halloween, there are a few corn mazes that remain open through November. One of these options is At'l Do Farms Corn Maize in Lubbock. All home to a pumpkin patch and a hayride, this farm is guaranteed to have something for the whole family and will be open until 6 November.
