Kroos agent: Haaland deal will cost €250-300m
Volker Struth told Bild on potential Erling Haaland deal: "He has a release clause and with salary and agent's fees it'll be €250-300m for five years."
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has many admirers but any club looking to take the Norway international off the hands of the Bundesliga side are going to have dig Deep to make it happen, according to Volker Struth, who represents Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos. Madrid are among those interested in the prolific forward, and will face competition from Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United for the 21-year-old.
Speaking to German daily Sport Bild, Struth suggested the overall cost of signing Haaland cold rise to €250-300 million and expressed his certainty that a deal will be forthcoming next summer, despite Dortmund’s determination to retain the services of a player who has been worth a goal a game since his arrival from Salzburg. “Haaland has a release clause,” Struth said. “The total package will a five-year salary and agents’ fees will probably be in the region of €250-300m.”
Haaland is currently sidelined with an injury to his hip flexors and there is some concern that he could be out for much of the remainder of the season. The forward is under contract at Dortmund until 2024 and there has been plenty of talk of his release clause, which is believed to stand at €75. However, the amount of money Haaland is likely to seek in wages – in the region of €50m per season – means that Bayern Munich will not be able to follow up on their interest in the Norway goal machine as a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, according to Struth.
“Even if Bayern had the money, they wouldn’t do it,” Struth told Bild. "All hell would break loose if a player in Germany was on €50m a season.” The agent added that he doesn’t believe money will ultimately decide Haaland’s destination. “Ten percent this way or that won’t guide his decision.”
