Keylor Navas ruled out of international break due to injury

Keylor Navas has been a key player for Costa Rica during the World Cup qualifiers in CONCACAF and they will return to action next week. Unfortunately, the veteran goalkeeper suffered an injury on Saturday in Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-2 victory against Bordeaux in Ligue 1.

Navas officially ruled out

Navas started the game and played the full 90 minutes, but on Sunday the Costa Rican Football Federation confirmed that he suffered an injury to his right elbow and will not be able to travel to join the national team. Costa Rica will face Canada on the road on 12 November and four days later will host Honduras.

The 34-year-old has started all six games for Costa Rica in the round-robin tournament and they aspire to qualify for their third consecutive World Cup. They currently sit in fifth place with six points and a record of 1W-3D-2L.
