A Tidy performance
While there weren't many chances, Argentina will feel satisfied with the result. Playing on enemy ground La Albiceleste were able to subdue a plucky Uruguay side that had no shortage of fight. Perhaps one could even argue that Uruguay were unlucky but in truth aside from a moment or two in the first half they did little to create any real threat on the Argentine goal.
In the end it was an early goal that proved to be the difference between the two sides. A beautiful swerving effort from Angel Di Maria that will surely find it's way into the highlight reels this week. With that Argentina are just about about qualified while Uruguay will have to lick their wound as they prepare for a final battle for qualification.

Arambarri - who just came in - sees his effort from distance go well over the goal. The idea was a good one.
Uruguay's Torres almost makes it in on goal but is finally halted by some resolute defending from Argentina.
Uruguay will also make a change though through necessity. Rodrigo Betancur just can't continue. He will be replaced by Mauro Arambarri.

Argentina are in free flow as they slip Joaquin Crrea into the box. It's only an incredible save by Muslera in the Uruguay goal that stops his low shot!

Uruguay win a free kick in front of the area but Facundo Torres' resulting delivery only finds the hands of the the goalkeeper.
Rodrigo De Paul delivers a brilliant cross into the area but Uruguay's defense is aware of the the threat and manage to clear to safety.
A heavy foul by Nandez in midfield. He avoids a booking but he will want to be careful from now on.
Uruguay appeared to be through down the flank but in the end Nandez is blown for offiside.

Martin Caceres has pushed his luck for the last time. The former Barcelona player had been testing the referee's patience in the first half and it seems to have caught up with him.

Suarez again finds himself in space and has a shot at goal to boot, but his effort goes wide of the post as we close in on the end of the first half.
Matias Vecino collects an inventive pass just outside that box and has a decent effort at goal from distance. Emiliano Martinez will be patting himself on the back after a very good save.

Nahitan Nandez commits a blatant foul in midfield and the referee is left with no choice but to blow his whistle.

Argentina comes into the game having all but qualified but they will want to make a statement against a Uruguay side that has got decent results in recent times.
Argentina can prove a point.
Though there has been doubt about the availability of Lionel Messi, the visiting Copa América champions will be full of confidence as they look to extend their 25-match two-year unbeaten run. Though they are all but assured a place in next year's big event, ‘La Albiceleste’ are still in for a chance at topping the group ahead of arch rivals Brazil.
