Rams 10 vs. 31 49ers live online: stats, scores, highights | NFL Week 10

49ers rank second for Monday Night Football record

The San Francisco 49ers handled the Los Angeles Rams in a NFC West matchup to end Week 10 of the regular season. The Niners used their run game to control the tempo of the game and keep the Rams' glitzy offense off the field.

New additions a non factor vs. Niners

All eyes were on the Rams and their new signings made in a week in which Los Angeles made a statement that they are all in when it comes to their Super Bowl ambitions. Neither Odell Beckham Jr. nor Von Miller could make a difference in a game where the Rams were beaten up.

Two quick Matt Stafford picks in the first quarter set the tone for the Niners to jump out to a big lead early on. One of those interceptions was taken to the house by Jimmie Ward for the second touchdown of the game.

San Fran outmuscled LA all game long

The Niners took the opening drive 93 yards on an 18 play drive. It was a long, drawn out possession that kept the clock moving, LA’s defense on the field and Matt Stafford on the bench which is exactly what San Francisco needed to do to beat the Rams.

With just two offensive possessions in the first half the Niners went to the halftime break up 21-7. After that they let the defense take over and held LA to just three points in the second half.

Niners beat Rams for 5th straight time as LA losses second straight,

Three straight Rams three and outs was followed by a long touchdown catch and run from Deebo Samuel on fourth down, and that put the game out of reach early in the fourth quarter.

With the win the Niners remain well in the playoff picture despite their losing record, while the Rams lose their second straight.

If it wasn't over before this, Samuel certainly called game with this fouth down conversion.

The Rams got cheeky right before the half, but it didn't work out as they planned.

Samuel turning on the jets and getting to the pylon.

Higbee made sure to secure this catch after his bobble led to the pick six on the other end.

Ward with his second interception of the first quarter.

Kittle got the first TD of the game

We are at the Two Minute Warning in San Fran, and this is just a matter of time before the Niners collect their 4th win of the season.

San Fran is going to end this game with 40+ rushes, and over 150 yards on the ground.

The Niners recover the onisde kick with 3:45 to go in the game and they will try to run this clock out.

FIELD GOAL RAMS!!

Nothing is going right for the Rams tonight. They look like they want to get off the field and focus on their bye week thats coming up after tonight's game.

Stafford skies it over the hands of Jefferson on 4th and Goal and the Rams come up empty on their 14 play drive.

The Niners will take over with the intention of running out six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Stafford with a big blunder on 3rd and Goal, He scrambled after feeling pressure, stepped over the line of scrimmage and then tried to pass it to a receiver in the back of the endzone.

Not only does it bring up 4th down, but it backs up the Rams to the 11 on 4th and Goal.

The Rams might be moving the ball, but the drive is taking way too long to finish off if your LA.

Stafford dropped by Key for a big sack right after the Rams pick up the first down. 2nd and Goal from the 17.

Kupp moves the chains on 3rd and 5

Just when I say that Williams comes up with an interception that is called back after a defensive holding call.

LA's drive continutes inside the Niners 20 with 8:30 to go in the fourth

The San Fran defense looks like they have just turned the pressyre down a bit as Stafford is moving the Rams up the field

Time to throw caution to the wind if your the Rams. They are done 24, and they need some big plays quick.

Who would have thought the Niners would have it so easy against one of the top teams in the league?

TOUCHDOWN NINERS!!!

The Niners with a gutsy call on 4th and 5 on the LA 40, Garappolo hits Samuel over the middle for a 40 yard TD catch and run.

The Niners are in control in the early parts of the fourth quarter.

The Niners going back to the run, and why not? They have dominated the Rams on the ground, especially in the first half.

End of 3rd Q

Another drop on third down for the Rams, this time it's Higbee who let it slip through his hands.

Three straight three and outs for the Rams who had the ball for less than a minute.

We are going to the 4th Quarter in San Fran with the home team leading 24-7

Not much happening on the offensive end for either of these teams, but the Rams have the ball with desperation starting to set in.

Under a minute to go in the third quarter.

The Rams are starting to pick up the defensive intensity, but they need some of that same attitude on the defensive end.

Timeout San Fran with 1:38 to go in the 3rd quarter.

You know the Rams are having an off night when Cooper Kupp drops a short pass on third down.

Second straight three and out for the Rams. The LA defense has been on the field for almost the entire thrid quarter.

FIELD GOAL NINERS!!!

A couple penalties, one was a false start on the center and another for an illegal shift brought a halt to the Niners drive,

Gould's 50 yard field goal is good and the Niners stretch it to a 3 possession game.

San Fran leads 24-7 with 4:38 to go in the third quarter.

The Niners and Samuel with the big play after the catch, he leads the NFL in yards after catch and he shows why right there, bouncing off tackles and bringing it down to the LA 40.

The Rams can't do anything after getting their first stop of the game. They go three and out and give the ball right back San Francisco.

The Rams finally stop the 49ers and force a punt just two and a half minutes into the half.

What can the Rams do after the stop now?

FAILED FAKE FIELD GOAL BY THE RAMS!!!

The field goal is faked by the Rams as the holder Hekker rolls right and finds Blanton who is cut down short of the first down marker, and the Niners get a big boost before the break.

21-7 with 12 seconds to go in the half.

After the two minute warning the Rams were called for a penalty, and had a 2 yard loss on a reception to Higbee to create 3rd and long which they couldn't convert.

We are at the Two Minute Warning with the Rams deep in San Fran territory. LA is looking to cut this game to a one possession contest before the break.

Stafford with a dime over the fingers of a San Fran defender and into the hands of Jefferson for a 33 yard gain and the Rams are in San Fran territory.

Stafford reminding the Niners they are going to have to be perfect all night if they want to stay ahead over the Rams offense.

I don't think the Niners could have even dreamed of having a start like this. They have been perfect on the offensive end. And frustration starting to set in on the LA bench.

TOUCHDOWN NINERS!!!

Samuel runs right and sneaks over the pylon for an 8 yard TD carry!!!

San Francisco with another 90+ yard TD drive to stretch the lead to 21-7

Somehow Garappolo's pass was not picked after threading it through a couple defenders and he finds Aiyuk on a slant pass. Aiyuk broke a few tackles and brought it down to the LA 8.

A false start on Tomlinson on 3rd and 2 looked like it was going to bring an end to the Niners drive, but Garappolo hit Samuel on a 20 yard catch and run.

Another long drive that keeps the clock moving for San Fran.

San Fran wants Stafford on the sideline as they eat up clock, that's exactly what they have done over first 20 minutes of the game.

The Niners offense is looking as sharp as I have seen all season. They are running all over the Rams, and Garappolo is making short, precise passes to keep the chains moving and the clock running.

Big play from Stafford to Kupp on the first play of the 2nd quarter. And then Stafford hits OBJ, and just like that the Rams are at the SF 11 yard line.

Big gainer by Garappolo to Kittle, and then a 10 yard run by Samuel has the Niners in Rams territory.

San Fran is making no secret about what they want to do. They are running the ball right tdown the throats of LA.

The Niners coming out with a coupe tough runs, trying to impose their physicality against this Rams defense. Wilson, Samuel and Mitchell will get a healthy portion of handoffs all night
