Paul Pogba will not play competitive football during what remains of 2021. The Manchester United midfielder is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks, until he has fully recovered from the thigh injury he sustained while training with the France squad last week. Pogba however, won't be recovering in Manchester, or back home in his country - he will fly out to the United Arab Emirates to complete his rehabilitation there. The English media report that Pogba will fly out to Dubai accompanied by a personal fitness trainer to aid his recovery.

Pogba's future still unclear

United witnessed the best Pogba right at the start of the campaign when the 28-year-old racked up seven assists in the first four Premier League games. Since then though, his form has been up and down - reaching a low point with his sending off in the 0-5 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford just minutes after coming on as a sub.

Then there is the issue of his future. His contract with United will be up in June and his agent Mino Raiola has given no clues about what might happen between now and then. Some of the rumours doing the rounds place Pogba returning to Juventus, but his agent Raiola had this to say: "Dreaming costs nothing, we'll see if dreams come true. I cannot stop anyone from dreaming but December is the month when people dream about Christmas". There has alos been suggestions that Solskjaer could be replaced by Zinedine Zidane, which in turn might change Pogba's outlook. The midfielder has an excellent relationship with the former Real Madrid coach but it looks highly unlikely that Zizou would be tempted to move to England.
