What NFL records did Christian McCaffrey set in Week 11?
Although Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey’s performance on Sunday wasn’t enough to beat the Washington Football Team, it still managed to get him a place in NFL history.
Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey and comebacking quarterback Cam Newton together were not able to defeat the Washington Football Team despite their best efforts, but the versatile star rusher achieved something in their 27-21 loss on Sunday- new NFL records.
McCaffrey finished the game with a solid performance- 59 rushing yards on 10 carries, and seven receptions for 60 yards, including one touchdown. But the highlight of the game for the running back came in the fourth quarter, when he managed to break multiple records.

Dual record
Newton threw him a 27-yard touchdown pass and the reception made McCaffrey the fastest player in NFL history to rack up 3.000 career rushing yards and 3,000 career receiving yards, needing only 57 games to pull off the feat. This, despite missing some games earlier in the season due to injury.
The previous record was held by New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara who reached the two milestones in 66 games.
On the receiving end
McCaffrey also registered a total of 357 receptions in those 57 games, which is the third-biggest number for that number of matches in the history of the NFL.
He is behind the Saints’ wide receiver Michael Thomas who notched 415 and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. who successfully received 382 passes.
The 25-year-old also secured the fifth-largest number of scrimmage yards in the history of the franchise, surpassing the mark of tight end Greg Olsen.
