The Green Bay Packers returned to their winning ways after defeating the Los Angeles Rams in Lambeau Field on Sunday afternoon. The Pack capitalized on the Rams turnovers as Aaron Rodgers threw for over 300 yards.

Both teams came in reeling

It was dubbed as America’s game of the week, and it lived up to the hype. Two teams with Super Bowl aspirations, two teams desperate to keep pace in the race for home field, and two teams entering the game on the midst of a midseason slump.

Los Angles had lost two in a row before going into their bye week, and had time to get healthy and incorporate some of the new faces on the roster into the team. Reports leading up to the game indicated that Rams QB Matt Stafford was battling a back injury, along with an arm injury.

The Packers got a big boost pregame when it was announced their running back Aaron Jones would be coming back after missing the game against the Minnesota Vikings. Aaron Rodgers was with out one of his top offensive lineman, David Bakhtiari and he had to deal with a broken toe that bothered him against the Vikings last week.

Rodgers battling broken toe

Rodgers didn’t practice all week, but got some early help from his defense when Matt Stafford was strip sacked by Rashan Gary and the Packers recovered deep in Los Angeles territory. It would be the first of three possessions the Packers would start inside the Rams 30 yard line.

The Rams battled back in the second quarter after turn overs on two of their first three possessions. They were able to overcome their early mistakes to take the Packers to halftime trailing the home side by just three points.

Big 3rd quarter led Packers to vicotry

The Packers used a monster third quarter to stretch a three point halftime lead to 19 points going into the final quarter. Rodgers orchestrated a nearly eight minute touchdown drive to start the third quarter to stretch the lead back to double digits.

Just minutes later the Packers had the ball back, but were forced to punt. J.J. Koski fielded the punt, but was stripped and lost the fumble when Krys Barnes recovered inside of the Rams 30. The Packers had to settle for a field goal, but on the next Rams possession Rasul Douglas picked off Matt Stafford and took it to the house on a 33 yard return to give the Packers a 36-17 lead late in the third quarter. It was the third straight game that Matt Stafford had an interception taken back for a touchdown.

The Rams made a comeback bid in the fourth quarter, but by then the deficit was to big and an onside kick recovered by the Packers sealed the game to take the Packers to 9-3 on the season.

Rodgers adds to MVP campaign

Rodgers ended the day with 307 yards and two touchdowns, while Davante Adams had eight catches for 104 yards.

Matt Stafford had 302 yards and three touchdowns, but his fumble early on and his pick six in the third quarter diminished the Rams chances of putting an end to their losing streak.

The loss to Green Bay makes it three in a row, and the Rams will have to try to keep pace against in the NFC West against the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.

The Packers will use their bye week to get rested and get healthy. They have a number of injuries. They have made it to their week off and are still very much in the race for home field.

The Packers got another big break with this muffed punt.

AJ Dillon took over in the second half of the game, especially on the opening drive.

Rodgers to Cobb for the TD, just like old days.

Is there a better duo in the league than Rodgers and Adams?

Randal Cobb had 4 catches for 94 yards before injuring his groin later in the game.

Rodgers showing some mobility even with a broken toe.

The sack that led to the opening score

The Packers will use their bye week to get rested and get healthy. They have a number of injuries. They have made it to their week off and are still very much in the race for home field.

That's three straight losses for the Rams who looked like they were one of the best teams in football, and only getting better after a couple blockbuster moves in the middle of the season.

The Rams were in that game until the end, but they did themselves no favors early in the game with turnovers and costly flags.

The Packers move to 9-3 on the year and they are right in the thick of the race for home field throughout the playoffs.

PACKERS WIN!!!

The Rams kick it up the middle hoping to clear the Packers receivers out, but to no avail. The Packers recover, take a knee and take the win in Lambeau.

Onside kick coming for the Rams

The Rams hand off to Henderson on 3rd and 1, and he is stopped short of the first down marker, and the clock stops running.

Strange call right there.

Gay rushes on after a load of time is ran off the clock. FG is good to bring the Packres lead to 36-28 with just 18 seconds left.

1:25 to go and the Rams are at the GB 30, they need a field goal, will they take it once they're in Gay's territory?

Stafford almost got picked by Stokes looking to link up with Higbee. That would have been the second pick six of the game if Stokes came up with the pick

Two Minute Warning

We are at the Two Minute Warning in Lambeau. LA is moving but they have no timeouts and are running out of time.

The Packers are giving up a lot underneath, trying to prevent the big play

LA take over from their 31 down 11 with under 3 minutes to go.

Crosby doinks it off the post for his first miss of the game, and that's his 9th miss of the season.

Dillon is running over the Rams right now, He's got the Packers down inside the LA 30 with some crunching rushes and more importantly he is keeping the clock running.

Rodgers on a short pass to D. Adams on a short slant. That's like a hand off for those two. They have such a connection, that you barely ever see the with an incomplete pass in those situation.

A shanked punt will give the Packers the ball at their own 45.

Stafford held on to the ball for an eternity on 3rd and 10, and it's Clark who gets the sack on Stafford.

4th down coming up.

Rams got to move quick, and they do so on their first play, with a Stafford strike to Kupp for 10 yards.

The Rams come up with a stop and they will take over at the 20 down by 11 with 7:36 to go.

Miller got to Rodgers and put a big hit on Rodgers. The pass was overthrown, but more importantly for the GB faithful, Rodgers looks to be ok after a punishing hit from Miller

The Packers face a 3rd and 3, and Rodgers hits St. Brown on a simple short pass for a pick up of 7. The Packers move the chains and keep the clock running.

Beckham came back on the field for a 3rd and 3 and Stafford went deep to him down the sideline, but the pass was over thrown.

Rams punt, and the Packers will take over from their own 33.

Stafford to Kupp on the sideline, and Kupp gives the Rams some breathing space  with a 13 yard gain after being pinned back to the 1 yard line.

Beckham was seen on the sideline with a heat pad around his back, looking in considerable pain. We will keep an eye on the situation.

The Packers are stopped after Miller's roughing the passer flag to start the drive, and the Rams get the ball back with under 13 to go.

Kupp let the punt bounce past him and it's downed at the LA 1 yard line. Bojorquez with a 61 yard punt!

A Packers holding call does the Rams a favor and backs the up 10 of the 15 yards from the roughing the passer penalty.

1st and 20 coming up from the GB 24

Another mistake from the Rams, this time it's Miller with a shot to the head on Aaron Rodgers, and that will give GB a 1st down on their 34 yard line.

This game looked over a few minutes ago, but that quick strike just made things very interesting for the next 14:52

Out of the quarter change, Stafford hits Beckham on a deep ball over the top for a 54 yard touchdown pass, and finally those two hook up.

Two point conversion is good, as Kupp does a toe tap in the back of the endzone to cut the lead to 11.

End of Third Q

We are at the end of the third quarter. and the Rams have a lot of work to do after gifting the Packers a huge lead in that third quarter.

Douglas almost comes up with another pick after Beckham fell down. He let it go right through his hands, and that one was a much easier catch than the last pick he had.

The Rams finally have a first down, but it comes 14 minutes into the second half

Stafford has thrown three pick sixes in the last three games. Disaster for Los Angeles who haven't done anything in this second half.

Stafford is picked by Douglas, who stepped right in front of Kupp and took the interception to the house!!!

Turnovers are killing the Rams.

The Rams take over looking for their first first down of the second half.

They have just 43 seconds of ball possesion, and we are 13 minutes into the third quarter.

The Packers are up but, their three possessions inside the Rams 30 yard line have only amounted to 13 points.

Crosby hits the 29 yard field goal, and he is 3/3 on a cold day in Lambeau.

The field goal unit will come on for GB after two straight incompletions from Rodgers. Excellent coverage from the Rams secondary in the redzone.

Screen pass to Lewis, and he had the ball punched out of his hands, but it was recovered by GB's Nijman at the LA 11.

This is the third GB drive that has started inside the LA 30 yard line.

Rodgers going to Adams for nine yards on the opening play of drive after the turnover.

Koski was stirpped on the return and GB's Barnes recovers it at the LA 28.
Another huge mistake for the Rams, who have gifted Green Bay opportunities deep in their own territory.

Rodgers looking for St. Brown deep down the field, The Rams almost came up with an interception, but bobbled it and it almost fell into the hands of St. Brown.

In the end it's 4th down and the Packers will punt.

Vonn Miller finally makes an appearance by tackling Jones in the backfield for a loss of 4.

Henderson picked up maybe one on first down, and then Stafford's next two passes were incomplete.

The Rams go 3 and out to start the second half.

That was a 13 play, 75 yard, nearly 8 minute drive to start the second half.

Rodgers to who else, but Dillon to cap the drive off on a five yard pass over the middle and the Packers lead by 10 once again.

The Packers take a risk and it pays off in points.

Rodgers pump faked, changed his mind and looked for Deguara for a 12 yard gain, and it's 1st and Goal from the 9.

Rodgers overthrows Valdes-Scantling and that brings up 4th and 2 from the 21 yard line. The Packers looked like they were going for it, and that provoked a timeout from the Rams.

This time it's Rodgers hitting Dillon in the flat, and the Rams are getting a heavy dose of Dillion to start the second half.

Dillon takes the Packers over the 50 yard line and down to the LA 35 on four straight carries

Rodgers with a big play over the top to Valdes-Scantling for 28 yards.

The Packers are 72-1-1 with Rodgers at quarterback at and a lead at halftime.

End of 2nd Q

The first half comes to an end as Stafford takes a knee.

So a whole lot of hooplah for nothing. The Packers can't move the chains after the flag, and will punt from their 49 yard line on 4th and 3.

Great punt and even better coverage, but better news for the Packers is an offisde flag will give the Packers a first down and GB will contine their drive from the GB 42.

Rodgers with a couple incompletions, and a short pass to Lazard wil give the Rams the ball back with 35 seconds back and three timeouts.

Adams with a 10 yard catch on the first play of the drive, but bobbled it before hitting the ground.

After review the refs rule Adams made the catch,1st and 10 from the GB 31.

The Rams scored with 1:28  left, which is a whole lot of time to give Rodgers before halftime.

Stafford sneaks it into the chest of Henderson who got popped at the goal line, held on  and got the 6 yard touchdown.

We are back to a three point game.

Stafford back to Kupp this time for 19 yards, who hadn't had a catch before the last two plays. Timeout Packers with 1:33

Two Minute Warning

Stafford to Kupp over midfield and to the 30. A three yard completion will take us to the Two Minute Warning.

Under 4 minutes to go in the first half.

That was a 6 play, 89 yard, 3 minute drive

Rodgers back to Cobb on the slant pattern and Cobb absorbs the hit and gets the 7 yard touchdown pass.

The Packers punch right back after holding the Rams to a field goal.

Rodgers going deep on 3rd and 2 and he finds D. Adams deep down the sideline for 43 yards.

He's got 4 catches for 73 yards.

Packers coming out firing on the first couple plays of the drive. Cobb gets 27 yards on a pass down the left side and Jones picks up 8 on the ensuing play.

Rams cut into the lead with 7:25 to go in the second quarter.

Gay's 36 yard field goal is good from 36 yards and the lead is cut in half.

The Rams had a great chance to take the lead after the muffed punt, but only come away with 3 points. Both teams will feel like they let chances slip through their hands in this second half.

Stafford looking for Beckham on 3rd and 3, and the slant pass is incomplete after a big hit by two Packer defenders.

That connection is still looking very new, 4th down coming up for the Rams who will have to settle for a field goal.

The Rams almost came up with a one punch strike after Kupp hits Jefferson, but upon further review the 25 yard touchdown is coming back.

2nd and 10 for the Rams from the 25.

The Rams and Matt Stafford will get the ball from the 25 looking to take the lead.

The Rams go 3 and out and this time will punt from deep in their own territory, but Cobb muffed the punt and the fumble falls right into the hands of LA's Rochell.

A huge break for the Rams who just got one back after giving up a fumble deep in their own

So far the Rams defense is bending but not breaking. The offense hasn't done them many favors, but that last drive showed how quickly Stafford and the Rams can score even if they aren't firing on all cylinders

The Rams come up with another stop after giving up Cobb's big reception.

Crosby nails the 28 yard field goal, but Green Bay have had plenty of chances to stretch this out to a big lead, and have let some opportunities slip through their fingers.

What a strike on 3rd and 3 to Randall Cobb who broke a tackle and went for 54 yards for a big gainer.

He did show his age at the end of the run and the saftey was able to catch up with him.

After the missed pass to Higbee I was just about to talk about Stafford looking a bit off on his throws, but he made me hit the back space button real quick.

How big will that sequence end up being at the games end. That 79 yard strike on 3rd and 8 could be the turning point in the game.

Stafford missed Higbee on 2nd and 8 on a throw we usually make him see, but then drops a deep dime into the break basket of Jefferson for a 79 yard touchdown catch and run.

Big response for the Rams after a couple consecutive turnovers.

The Rams hold Green Bay after the turnover on downs, and the Packers will have to settle for a field goal.

Crosby drills the 45 yard field goal as he and Packer nation breathe a sigh of relief after seeing the football split the uprights.

What a stand on fourth down.

Check out Rodgers move with that broken toe.

The Packers come up with a big defensive play to set up the first score of the game.

I know analytics suggest a team is prone to pick up a yard on fourth down if that's all they need for a first down, but on your own 26 yard line you have to think that's too big of a risk.

We'll find out right now.

The Rams take a risk on 4th and 1 and Henderson is up ended and he doesn't get to the marker.

LA turn it over on downs in their own territory for the second time in the last two possessions.

Rodgers' broken toe looked pretty good on that sprint to the pylon. Let's see how it holds up on a cold Green Bay day.

The Packers strike first after the Rams turnover deep in their own territory.

Rodgers keeps it out of the shotgun and runs right and beats the defender to the corner for the games first touchdown. 1 yard TD run after the fumble for Rogers.

GB leads 7-0 with 2:11 in the first quarter.

Stafford was dropped in the backfield and stripped by Gary. The fumbe is recovered by Smith who returned it to the LA 6.

Stafford was dropped in the backfield and stripped by Gary. The fumbe is recovered by Smith who returned it to the LA 6.

The Packers took a time out after the Rams dropped someone back to potentially bring back the missed field goal.

After the timeout Matt LeFleur sent the punt unit out and the Rams will start from their own 15.

Crosby has struggled this year. He is 15 for 23 this season and just  two of his last six.

Rodgers looking deep on 3rd and 10 from thhe LA 38, but he overthrows Lazard and that will bring out Mason Crosby to try a 56 yard FG.

The Packers have crossed mid field in a slow well developed drive. Lots of runs and short passes.

The Packers won't want Rams and the Lions to turn this into a shoot out

Green Bay runs it with Dillon out of the shotgun on 4th down and 1. Dillion picks it up with a gain of two.

I must say I love how prone coaches are to go for in on 4th and short from the middle of the field

The Packers are a yard short of the marker on third down after slant pass over the middle to Cobb for 7 yards.

The matchup of the day is Devonte Adams vs. Jalen Ramsey. If Ramsey can keep Adams quiet the Rams will have a great chance today.

Adams already has a catch for 15 yards

Three of the first four plays have gone to Aaron Jones, who is coming back from injury.

Rodgers takes the field for the first time, and remember, he's got a broken toe he suffered when he was in quarantine.

His first pass is complete for a first time to Valdes-Scantling

LA got a first down, but then Stafford completed just 1 of 3 passes after the Rams moved the chains just once.

There have been reports of Stafford coming into the game banged up, with a back injury and a injury to his arm.

That will be something to watch for today.

The Rams going to the run game on the first two plays of the game and is this LA just showing they are ready to get phyisical?

They have been called into question for being a soft team after getting beat by the Niners and Titans.

We are underway from Lambeau!!! The Packers kickoff off to the Rams and it will be Matt Stafford leading the LA out on the field on the opening drive.

Can Packers keep Rodgers jersey clean?

David Bakhtiari remains out for the Packers. The Vikings got to Rodgers without thier top O lineman, and the Rams pass rush is loaded with talent.

It' buisness time for Aaron Rodgers. He's not used losing multiple games in a row.

The only early game still going on is the Bucs and Colts.

The headline of the early game: The New England Patriots are the new top dogs in the AFC.

We are less than a half hour away from kickoff from Green Bay.

The Pack are back, or are they?

Allen Lazard getting his pregame touches in. Looks like he should stick to American football, he's got much better hands than feet.

It's going to be a cold one in Green Bay.

LA used the bye week to get nice and healthy.

Cooper Kupp nice and bundled up pregame.

The weather forecast in Green Bay courtesy of the local LA news channel. It will be cold, but clear in the Frozen Tundra.

The Rams rolling up with the drip.

Woods out, ODB in

The timing for Odell being brought into LA could not have been more apporpriate after thier No. 2 receiver Robert Woods tore his ACL shortly after.

Jones is back

Breaking news out of Green Bay: Aaron Jones is active for the Packers today. Jones missed the Vikings game.

NFC Divisional round rematch

Last year the Packers topped the Rams in the divisional round after Rodgers threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns while the GB defense held LA to under 250 yards of total offense.

Packers looking to bounce back

The Packers lost to Minnesota last week in a tight contest to drop their second game in the last three. It was the first game the Packers lost with Rodgers under center since Week 1.

Beckham and Miller yet to make an impact

The Los Angeles Rams have made some big mid season moves, showing they are ALL IN this year bringing in Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller. Since the acquisitions of both players the Rams have yet to win, but a bye week might have been just what they needed to incorporate the two into the team for the final stretch of the regular season.

Battle of NFC big boys

The Los Angeles Rams hit the road to take on the Green Bay Packers with both teams looking to bounce back after hitting a bit of a slump. AS English will have you covered with up to the minute stats, scores, and analysis.
