The New England Patriots, who were known as the Boston Patriots when first founded, are a member club of the AFC East division. Tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England holds the record for the most Super Bowl victories, with six wins so far.

During the Brady- Belichick era, New England enjoyed a dominant period from 2001 to 2019 after an unsuccessful start prior to the 21st century. They have had 11 appearances at the Super Bowl with 5 losses, tied with the Denver Broncos.
