'Alec Baldwin: Unscripted', times, how and where to watch
The American actor speaks for the first time in an exclusive interview with ABC on the fatal shooting on the set of the film 'Rust' and claims: "I didn't pull the trigger".
Alec Baldwin maintains that he "never pulled the trigger" of the gun with which he allegedly accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the shooting of the film "Rust" last October.
"I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger, ever," the actor stated in an advance excerpt of the interview he has granted to ABC television network, to be aired on Thursday.
The 63-year-old actor does not provide further details about whether the gun went off by itself or describe the accident, although he does assure that he could not imagine that there was live ammunition in the studio. Reports had suggested that some staff members had walked off set on the morning of the tragic accident in a dispute over safety measures on the set.
"Someone put live ammunition in that gun, a bullet that wasn't even supposed to be in the building," he added.
The actor, who also served as a producer on the film, broke down in tears when talking about Hutchins' death: "It doesn't seem real to me," he said.
She was someone "loved and admired by everyone who worked with her," he recalled.
This is Baldwin's first interview after the accident on October 21.
