Don't Look Up movie: cast, plot and trailers from the new Netflix movie
The sci-fi comedy follows two astronomers trying to prevent a comet striking Eart in one of the year's largest casts.

Releasing on December 10, Don't Look Up has amassed a serious cast in one of Netflix's biggest releases. With big names like Leonardo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep, the comedy and disaster movie (strange combination, I know) is getting a dual release.
Firstly, the film is released in cinemas on December 10. Two weeks later, on Christmas Eve, the film is released on Netflix.
Who has been cast in it?
- Jennifer Lawrence plays an astronomy grad student Kate Dibiasky,
- Leonardo DiCaprio plays Kate Dibiasky’s astronomy professor, Dr Randall Mindy,
- Meryl Streep plays the US President,
- Cate Blanchett plays Brie, the face of The Daily Rip,
- Rob Morgan plays Dr Clayt Oglethorpe,
- Jonah Hill plays the President's son Jason Orlean,
- Ron Perlman plays Colonel Drask,
- Timothée Chalamet plays Nico,
- and plenty more established actors.
Adam McKay, Director and Producer, says: "Honestly, I’m still in complete shock that we got all these megastars to agree to do this in the first place. We initially sent the script around in early 2020. Jen Lawrence was the first one we went out to and was the first to sign on. Then Leo agreed, then Jonah, and Meryl. At a certain point my casting director said it was getting ridiculous."
