With a few simple steps, you can set up an account and begin having your payments sent to you through direct deposit using Cash App. Your money will be available to you as soon as it is received according to the company, faster than if it were sent to many banks.

In order to enable direct deposits using Cash App you will need to first download Cash App to your mobile phone if you haven’t already. You will also need to an activated Cash Card, a free, customizable debit card associated with your account. With an activated Cash Card, you will have a routing number that you can use to receive direct deposits.
Once you’ve downloaded Cash App and set up your account with Cash Card, you can begin receiving direct deposits. On your mobile device you’ll need to tap the “Banking Tab” represented by the dollar sign “$” in the lower left part of the screen. Next tap the “Direct Deposit” link and then follow the instructions. You’ll want to make sure that all your information is up to date and correct or you may experience delays in receiving payments.
You can have paychecks, government stimulus payments, tax refunds and unemployment benefits deposited directly into Cash App. Then with your Cash Card pay for things online or in stores anywhere Visa is accepted.
Cash App also lets you file your state and federal taxes
New this year, those who have the Cash App can also download the Cash App Taxes service to file your state and federal taxes for free. Square Inc, which provides the Cash App service, acquired Credit Karma Tax in November 2020.
The company incorporated Credit Karma Tax’s software into their services so that users can file their 2021 tax return for free online. The company guarantees that users returns will be completely accurate and the service will “double-check every detail to make sure your refund is accurate down to the last cent.”
According to the company’s webpage, you can get your refund two days faster depositing it into Cash App.
Should either the IRS or applicable state tax authority, or both, impose penalties and/or interest due to a calculation error because of Cash App Taxes, the company will reimburse you for up to a maximum of $1,000, but in the form of a gift card or cards.
