The 2022 NFL playoffs have been a wild ride so far. Having witnessed a Divisional Round weekend filled with upsets, walk-off wins, and an overtime thriller, one can only wonder if it's possible for the Conference Championship games to surpass the excitement this Sunday.

Jimmy G and the rough and tumble 49ers

Last weekend when the San Francisco 49ers met the No.1 seeded Green Bay Packers, not only did they put down Aaron Rodgers' heavily favored side but they did so without scoring a single touchdown as they emerged victorious with a score of 13-10 at Lambeau Field. How did they do that you ask? With what is probably the most unforgiving defense in the league. Rodgers himself can attest to the fact as he was sacked five times in a game that marked the lowest score in the quarterback's career.

That is not to say that Jimmy G and the offense did nothing; in fact Garoppolo had a creditable shift with 11-of-19 for 131 yards and an interception. Then there was also Deebo Samuel, who helped set up the game-winning field goal, as he ran for nine yards on third-and-7 with just a minute remaining in the game. On the night he finished with 10 carries for 39 yards and three catches for 44 yards. While he did sustain what appeared to be a serious blow to the head, he has recovered well this week and is expected to face the Rams on Sunday. Los Angeles be warned.

The Rams are giant killers

Before a ball was thrown or kicked last weekend, many thought it was the end of the line for the Rams. True, some entertained the idea of an upset, but Los Angeles were set to face the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their legendary quarterback Tom Brady. Apparently the Rams didn't read the script as their 30-27 win over Brady and company clearly shows. On the night the boys in blue and gold took an early lead over the Bucs, racing out to a 27-3 ahead before the start of the third quarter, but as could have been expected, Brady and the Bucs came right back, eventually tying the game 27-27 with just under a minute on the clock.

Enter Rams QB Matthew Stafford. With a deep pass to the man of the moment WR Cooper Kupp, Stafford stamped his name on the game as the reception put LA in position for what would be the game winning field goal. On the night Stafford finished with 28-of-38 with 366 passing yards and two touchdowns. Kupp for his part had nine receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown. Things are going to be wild on Sunday night.
