Rams' Aaron Donald missing one thing from the collection

LA Rams' defensive tackle Aaron Donald has won every individual award available to a player in his position, but the Vince Lombardi is outstanding.

After eight seasons in the NFL, Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has a career worthy of a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee.

Donald was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2014, has been the Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, 2018 and 2020 and has been on the All-Pro first team for the past seven seasons. However, the 30-year-old athlete knows he is missing one trophy from his collection, the ultimate prize of the Vince Lombardi.

"I feel like I accomplished a lot in a short amount of time in this league," Donald said ahead of Sunday's Championship clash against the San Francisco 49ers.

"The only thing I'm lacking now is being a world champion," he continued, briefly forgetting that only one nation competes in the NFL. "To get to that point, we've got to win this week. So, we're focused on the 49ers and trying to find a way to beat them, to get to where we're trying to get to."

"Well, this is what you work for. This is what I've been working for. This is what we've been working for. We've been trying to find a way to get to the Super Bowl and we're one game away against a divisional opponent.

"They had our number the past couple of times we played them. I feel like there's no better stage than this. This is the type of game you train for during the offseason. All that extra grind, all that extra film is to play in big games like this. I feel like there's no better stage than what we have right now."

Winning it for Donald

So, there's no getting away from the fact that Donald is going to be giving his absolute all in Sunday's big game -- one you'll be able to follow live right here on AS USA -- but it would appear that there are others in his unit just as keen to get the W for him.

"This building wants to win for Aaron Donald to create more mystique to his legacy and what he's done," said the Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris. "We want to win for Aaron Donald."
