The US are also fancied to join them but need to up their game in the remaining matches.
Take nothing away from Canada who ran out deserved winners with a solid and disciplined display against a US side who just seemed to be lacking creativity in Hamilton and who now need to dig deep in Minnesota next midweek as they face Honduras.

Canada reclaimed top spot in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying with a 2-0 win over Honduras on Thursday, after the United States briefly led the standings thanks to their 1-0 win over El Salvador.
Canada top the table on 19 points, one ahead of the United States, with Mexico third on 17 points.
The top three sides qualify automatically for the World Cup in Qatar, with the fourth-placed team, currently Panama on 14 points, going into an intercontinental playoff.
A win for either the Canada side or indeed the US would deliver a major boost in advancing towards one of the three automatic qualifying places available with the fourth placed side set to enter a play-off with the winner from the OFC confederation.
