Douglas Costa arrives in Los Angeles to sign for the Galaxy
The Brazilian playmaker will soon be officially announced by the Los Angeles Galaxy for the upcoming 2022 Major League Soccer season.
The Los Angeles Galaxy will soon announce the signing of Douglas Costa for the upcoming 2022 Major League Soccer regular season. The Brazilian winger arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday to sign for the five-time MLS champions until 2023.
LA Galaxy reached a deal with Juventus
Last month, the 31-year-old and Gremio agreed to terminate the rest of his loan from Juventus because they couldn't avoid relegation from the top flight in Brazil. They were unable to keep paying his wages and he is still under contract with Juventus until 30 June 2022.
So the LA Galaxy have reached an agreement with the Serie A side for Costa to play in MLS on loan for six months. Once he is a free agent, the Major League Soccer side will offer Costa an 18-month contract until the end of the 2023 season.
Costa has accepted the terms established by the Los Angeles Galaxy and the announcement should be made this week. It was first reported by AS that the player would be earning around $5 million per season with the MLS side.
