All eyes will of course be on Cristiano Ronaldo, the competition’s all-time leading scorer and five-times Champions League winner, who while not bought specifically for European success as was the case at Juventus, will certainly be expected to lift United as far as possible in this season’s campaign. The Portuguese has played against Atleti more times than any other club during his career, scoring 25 goals in 35 games with a win-loss record of 17-9 and nine draws.
