The Los Angeles Clippers won the fourth and final intercity rivalry game against the Lakers in a game between two teams going in opposite directions. Reggie Jackson led the way with 36 points in the 132-111 victory.

Clippers continue their hot streak

The Clippers came into the night rolling having won four straight while the Lakers limped into Thursday’s game on the heels of a three game losing streak.

It was no secret that both teams were without a handful of superstars, but the Clippers have been getting used to life without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George while the Lakers are having trouble coping to life with Anthony Davis on the bench.

The Lakers offense struggled for much of the night without a center, and LeBron James was again asked to fill in down low which can take away from his ability to create off the dribble and the Clippers took advantage of that, especially in the second half.

Clips overcome Zubac foul trouble

They say it’s a game of runs it was never more evident than tonight in LA. Ivica Zubac got into some foul trouble early on and the Lakers pulled ahead. Reggie Jackson and back up big man Isaiah Hartenstien lifted the home side who ended the first quarter with a 9-0 run to take the 36-31 lead going into the second 12 minutes.

The lead was stretched out all the way to 17 before the Lakers came back to life right before the half. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook came roaring back to close the gap to just three after a 14-0 to head into the break.

LeBron and the Lakers were victims of terrible timing after cutting the lead to 66-63 at half. They lost all of the momentum they built at the end of the second quarter by coming out of the locker rooms flat to start the final half.

LAC's third quarter run sunk Lakers

After exchange a basket a piece to start the third quarter it was the Clippers turn to go on a run, and the 23-0 spurt would be the final blow to the Lakers chances at stopping their losing streak.

The Clippers cruised to victory in the fourth quarter, as Reggie Jackson was given a standing ovation by the Crypto.com Arena crowd after a 36 point, 8 rebound and 9 assist game.

Jackson and the Clippers continue to climb up the Western Conference while the Lakers are quickly falling down the ladder. They are still in Play-In positioning, but Frank Vogel’s side looks lost without Anthony Davis down low.

There are under three minutes to go, but it's merely a formality here in LA as the Clippers have had this game in the books from the middle of the third quarter.

It looks like Jackson has seen the last action of his night. He gets a standing ovation around the Crypto.com Arena after a fantastic night in front of the home fans.

Jackson just shook Westbrook out of his shoes, and was fouled by the Lakers guard. On the next play he drops a three in his face and those two have been jawing all night.

The Lakers are showing some fight in this fourth quarter. But the fight they have been showing in the last few games comes after allowing their opponents to jump ahead to a big lead, and they have to dig down just to make the scoreline respectable.

James with the slam right down main street and Lue wants a timeout. They still lead by 21, but they have given up a few too many easy baskets in transition for their coaches liking .

It's Jackson giving the Clippers their first points of the fourth coming out of the timeout. He's got 26 on the night.

Tyrone Lue wants a timeout after just a minute that saw the Lakers score a quick couple of buckets.

We are into the fourth quarter and if the Lakers are going to have any chance they need to start this quarter hot.

What a half for the Clippers who came out and asserted their dominance against this very fragile Lakers team. That was a 40-18 quarter for the Clippers who look like they are on their way to a fifth straight win.

The Lakers get back to back buckets for the first time in the half, but the sudden surge is coming much too late. You can't expect to make up more than a 20 ponit deficit going into the fourth quarter.

The Clippers have gone on a 32-6 run since starting the second half.

I said it right before halftime, but the end of the second quarter came at the worst time for the Lakers. They were rolling, and everything seemed to be coming easy on the offensive end. LeBron was feeling it, Reaves was productive, but we haven't seen any of that in the third quarter.

The Clippers were on a 23-0 run before the Anthony mid range jumper.

Zubac with the offensive rebound and pitches it out to Morris who dranns the three ball, and right after that Jackson drains a deep two.

The Clippers are up by 20 less than four minutes into the second half. The Lakers have really dropped their guard coming out of the break, and if this was a more pro Lakers fanbase in Crypto.com Arena we might be hearing some boos around the stadium.

Zubac with his second transition dunk of the quarter, and the same thing that got the Lakers in trouble in the first half is plaguing them inthe third.

The Clips come out with a 13-2 run and erase all the progress the Lakers had made at the end of that first half. Three threes and a Zubac dunk force a timeout from the Lakers early in the third quarter.

The Clippers break the run the Lakers ended the half on with a three ball from Batum.

There was a period in that second quarter when the Lakers defense just shut off. This was one of those times.

Jackson was hot to start the night. He's got 15 going into halftime.

James has 18, and Monk and Westbrook both have 12 while Reggie Jackson lead the Clippers with 15. Convington and Hartenstein both have 10 and the Clips big man did a great job in relief of Zubac who was in foul trouble early on.

After climbing out to a 17 point lead the Clippers turned off and allowed a 14-0 run to close the gap going into the second half.

James going into the hear t of the defense and gets the bucket and one. He's starting to feel himself too. Maybe unfortunate for him and the Lakers that the halftime break is coming up.

Reaves to Westbrook! And if there was any question as to how many Lakers fans there are in the building "on the road" in Crypto.com Arena that alley oop lets you know there are quite a few.

The Lakers are tyring to claw their way back into this game before the halftime break. We saw them do something similar in the game against the Mavs after falling behind by 21.

Smart play by Westbrook who saw he was one on one with Zubac and he goes right at the big man, hitting the bucket and drawing Zubac's third foul of the night.

It's an al drive and kick look for the Lakers right now, and their offense has come to a halt after scoring 31 in the first quarter.

Kennard wide open for three! The Lakers are lost with their transition defense. Every time they turn it over it seems like the Clippers get an easy bucket on the other end.

Zubac is back in with his 2 fouls and goes right back to work down low with a put back on the offensive glass.

Hartenstien with the put back, and he's not just filling the vacancy left by Zubac, but he and Reggie Jackson are taking this game over with

Jackson in transition with a wide open lane down the middle, and that's inexcusable for the Lakers. On a fast break the someone always has to pick up ball, but no one did and Jackson gives the Clippers a 14 point lead, the largest of the night.

Reaves with a big block and then put his body back on the line, but paid the price as Covington's elbow struck him in the chin and for a second time in two games Reaves is left to pick himself up and dust himself off after a blow to the face.

Jackson has 15 points and he's becoming a real problem for the Lakers.

LeBron has been to the line 5 times already this quarter, and that will help him get going after just 6 points in the first quarter. He's got 13 at the moment.

`Hartenstein wide open downlow, and the Lakers look unsure about their defensive assignments with no center on the floor.

The Clippers are red hot from downtown! Covington just hit the fifth three of the game for the Clippers and they are 5/6 from behind the arc.

The Clippers ended the first quarter on a 9-0 run take the lead after a back and forth opening 12 minutes.

We are at the end of a high octane 1st quarter, but not before Jackson is fouled on the three point attempt. He sinks all three and the Clippers go into the second quarter up by five.

The Lakers are going small, and on the offensive end have 5 guys on the perimeter. Not only is it hard to run an offense like that, but getting a rebound off a miss in nearly impossible with no one on the inside.

The Lakers defense is starting to create some easy offense for Los Angeles and with LeBron on the bench at the moment, easy offense is exactly what they need.

Reaves is off to a hot start, with 9 points in the first 8 minutes. Roll players are becoming more and more important for the Lakers. With Westbrook struggling and Davis out LeBron needs some help from guys down the depth chart.

Zubac just picked up his second foul and that's an early story to keep an eye on.

James with a big block on one end, and didn't get fed in transition, but finished the play off with a put back slam. The Lakers need to make sure he gets going early on. They have started slow the last two games, and can't afford to do so tonight.

LeBron starting at center last game delayed him getting into a groove against the Mavs early on. Tonight he is being allowed his freedom with Howard down low.

The Lakers have a serious problem at center. Dwight Howard isn't half of the scoring threat that Anthony Davis is, and his effect he has on the defensive side is a fraction of what it used to be. LeBron played center for a good portion of the last game against the Mavs.
