Real Madrid: Haaland invests in Costa del Sol villa

It's no secret that Erling Haaland and his family adore Spain. And especially Marbella, where just over a year ago, the family bought a house where they could spend the Christmas holidays together. Erling's father Alf-Inge is a huge golf fan and in Marbella he has found the ideal place to enjoy his hobby.

But Haaland is so convinced that Spain could be his second home that he has decided to take the plunge and buy a place of his own. He has signed a purchase deposit contract to acquire a house in the Nagüeles residential area, valued at 6.5 million euros.

Marbella's Golden Mile

The neighbourhood, one of the region's greenest zones, forms part of Marbella's ‘Golden Mile’ - an upmarket coastal strip situated just a few minutes' drive from the popular tourist destination, Puerto Banus and boasts one of the best beaches and beachside bars of the city.

Haaland is already a part of the landscape in Marbella. It's not unusual to see him at some of the city's top restaurants and nightclubs. On New Year's Eve, he saw 2022 in at one of the prime clubs in the district and was only too happy to attend a group of Madrid fans by signing autographs and posing for selfies. The Norwegian is used to being out and about and being recognised - even though the area is popular with foreign tourists, he feels completely at home.

One of the fans who approached Haaland told AS when he he asked the player if he would be coming to Spain next season, the reply was "Sí" (Yes), in perfect Spanish. He even went as far as adding, “I'll be joining your team...”

Just as Diario AS recently reported, the Norwegian striker has decided to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer to further his career as he feels he is at a dead end. Dortmund are out of the Bundesliga title race and eliminated from the Champions League and out of the Europa League.

Haaland has told his close circle that the only way he can continue his development and grow professionally is by going to the next level so that he can continue his devastating goal scoring figures - he's scored 80 goals in 79 games during his time at Dortmund - an average of almost a goal per game. His desire to take the next step and sign for Madrid is much closer than he might think. Now is his time.
